Something my Dad told me was that Artificial Intelligence could be so human that it was possible for them to fall in love. And honestly I trust that he's right because he is one of the smartest men on this Earth. So, voila. I made a story out of it! Enjoy!
Also, 2.3+K on this book?! Insane! There's so many of you!
-AI walked around the Avengers tower, making my way over to Tony Stark. "You called me, sir?" I asked, noticing how the strange malfunction in my voice had gone, a small smile making its way to my lips. He turned around, giving me a smile as he nodded.
"Yeah, it's a little.. mission, if you will."
"I get to go on a mission?" I asked, excitement lacing through my voice.
"Yeah- I guess so. When I made you, I decided I wanted you to be more human, right?"
"Yeah...?"
"I've decided that seeing as I based your physique and emotions off a teenager, I need you to go undercover."
"But, sir-"
"I know, there are some things that give away the fact you're an AI- but those are easily hidden, right? Not that you should be ashamed of them."
"I understand, Mr. Stark." I said. "What will I be undercover for?" I asked, rubbing my arm at the breeze from outside, the light blue lights around my arms going a shade darker for a second. Tony stopped pacing around the room and turned on his heel to face me.
"You will be watching over a superhero- his name is Peter Parker." I grinned, raising an eyebrow.❝So I'm babysitting a superhero?❞
I walked into Midtown, an oversized jumper on to hide my arms and because I find them comfortable- in all honesty. I made my way inside, trying not to be trampled by the stampede of students around me. The group parted into more groups of different people and they all chatted away, laughter coming from all directions- even the high Dr side of the school! That was a lot of people. I opened the locker, having the combination stored into my hard-drive that then came into my vision, disappearing once it clicked and opened. I shoved my bag into the locker, taking out a textbook. I decided to go to the class early to avoid the next trampling session and went up some stairs, noticing someone that matched a photo of Peter Parker Tony showed me. A person was behind him, whispering something before he grinned and turned around. "No way!"
Some girls- cheerleaders, by their outfits- whispered between them and one of them even said "lame" Loud enough for the boys to hear.
"Dude that insane- how many pieces?"
I zoned out of what they were saying and walked up to him, knowing that Tony managed to get me into the same lessons. I gave him an awkward smile once he responded to me tapping on his shoulder and I tucked some hair behind my ear. "Uh... hi. I was told to go to you, seeing as we have some lessons together and that you could show me where to go?" I lied, already having a map of the school digitally in the corner of my eye so I knew where I was going. His cheeks went pink and he nodded quickly.
"I- yeah- sure. What's- what's your name?"
"I'm Y/N, nice to meet you... two." I said, noting the other person as his friend. The other person gave me a grin and held out his hand for me to shake.
"I'm Ned, the one that can't speak is Peter." He joked, making me chuckle. Peter's cheeks lightened a few shades and then held out his hand for me to shake once Ned pulled his hand back.❝Welcome to Midtown.❞
I walked to the classroom with Peter once he checked to see which lessons we had together, his eyes widening and his eyebrows being raised when he realised that we had all the same classes. Thank you, Tony Stark.
"Well, this is our first class. Welcome to English."
"Awesome. Thanks, Peter. I think I'd probably be in math right now if it weren't for you." I joked, making him nod as his peeks went a shade of pink.
"No problem!" He shoved his hands in his pockets, "So, what's your.. uh, what's your deal?" Came the question as he rolled from the balls of his feet to his heels back and forth.
"What?"
"Well, y'know, you must be really smart or something to just.... enrol, right?"
"Right- uh, I was meant to come to the school earlier, but I had to go abroad for... business."
"Business?"
"Yeah, my Dad has a job that sometimes goes around the world and this time I had to go with him."
"Oh." He said, stopping the rocking from one part of his foot to another and instead holding the door open with his arm. "Ladies first, then?" I nodded at him with a smile and gave him a quick thanks before looking around, seeing only one other person there.
"Do you know where I could sit?"
"Uh... yeah, actually. Ned had his science class moved to another time so I have a space next to me."
Another one of Tony Stark's many mission blessings. I sat down next to him and moved some hair behind my ear so I could see, putting some glasses on that Tony Stark somehow managed to make- their ability being that it feeds me information I don't need storing in my Hard Drive, which is great because I pretty much shut down when I sleep and that means it won't be in my Random Access Memory, instead. A bell rang and teenagers filled the room, making Peter and Me groan quietly when we saw someone try and grab a girl's butt, which was disgusting. The memory would make me shudder, even now. "I smell something, do you?"
"No, what do you think it is?"
"Desperation." I joked, making him snort and hide it as a cough, making me chuckle at him. I heard the teacher walk in and I looked away from Peter to see which one it was. I searched through the information on the glasses to find what the subject in science currently was.
"Alright, everyone settle down, get in your seats!" They yelled, making everyone shuffle around into their seats as they cleared their voice and wrote something on the board. People passed a few notes, making me raise an eyebrow and chuckle to myself, writing something something on a piece of paper and handing it to Peter.
'C12H22O11 We're goin' down' It read, making him try and not burst out laughing at the joke and hiding it as a cough when the teacher turned back around with the subject written on the board in quite large writing. "As you can see," they pointed to the board "We're going to be learning about..." the lesson went on, the droning making me want to either scream or fall asleep. Instead, I let my head rest on my hands, the fingers interlocked with each other as I looked down at the desk, seeing a note had been placed there. The handwriting was rushed and scribbled but neat, nonetheless.
'Nice joke, where'd you get it from?'
'I thought of it myself, why?'
'I don't know, making conversation. Not the best idea when you're socially awkward..'
I looked over at him and gave him a comforting smile. 'Social anxiety, huh? I get what you mean.. I rehearsed how the hell I was going to talk to you haha.'
'Damn, I didn't really read you as socially awkward.'
'I guess I have a pretty good poker face.'
'Same.'
'I know. I can tell.'
'Explain?'
'You seem like a person that keeps a lot of secrets.'❝You have no idea.❞
I walked outside, rain pouring down heavily from the clouds and I sighed as I pulled my hood over my head and made my way out of school. "You're going to catch a cold, doing that." A voice said, making me turn around to see Peter.
"I don't see you doing much."
"I... have a good immune system." His words made me nod and I pit my hands into the pockets of the sweater.
"Same with me."
Peter's so-called watch started beeping and he quickly looked down at it, hitting the object once or twice.
"Sorry. I'll... see you tomorrow?"
"Yep. See you at school, good luck with your internship."
"Thanks! Wait- what- I didn't mention the internship."
"Lucky guess. Bye Pete!" I said, jogging off and turning my head back just to wave, making the corner of his mouth to reach up as he gave me a small wave and waited a moment before running off. I made my way home and walked in instantly, FRIDAY recognising me immediately. Tony walled over quickly and held me at arm's length. "Well? How did it go?"
"It went amazingly!" I exclaimed, dropping onto a seat ans telling him about what happened."You seem to like the Spidery kid, don't you?"
"What? No!"
"What?!" He asked, putting his hands up in a surrender pose. "Just asking."
I cringed. "I don't like him. Emotions are pretty useless, you know."
Tony sighed. "You have emotions, though."
"Still think they're useless."
Tony once again sighed and nodded. "Well done, though, you did amazingly for your first day." He congratulated, making my smile wider.
"Thanks, sir."
"I've told you before, call me Dad!" He called behind him as he walked off to work on something. I went to my room and looked around. Mr. Stark had offered to decorate, but I didn't want to. However, he did end up giving me a large box of things in case I changed my mind. I sighed, opening it and pulling some things out to place in my room, feeling more satisfied with myself and my room as the light grey of hospital walls were hidden with a multitude of things. It was as if the room felt more... human, in a way. I flopped onto my bed and got out my laptop, trying to cure my boredom before sighing and placing it on my desk so I could do my homework.❝God, I hate homework.❞
I got up to the music of Back In Black and groaned, thankful that I could actually open my eyes that day before remembering what time school starts and panicking a bit. I quickly threw on an oversized plaid shirt and a jumper that was slightly smaller, pulling on a pair of jeans and brushing my hair as I watched the time carefully. I did all the other necessary things and was ready for school on time, yelling a "Bye, Mr. Stark!" Before making my way to the train station and hardly getting to where there were no people everyone practically sharing their body parts with people it was that crowded. I hated taking a train to school. I finally came to my stop and got off the train with a couple of other people, taking out my earphones and pausing the music I was listening to.
This is the worst thing I've ever had to do for Mr. Stark.
