"Kaycee isn't in on this!"

"Yeah, neither is Sean!"

The eight kids that remained in the classroom were trying their best to defend their runaway friends, seeing as they themselves already have a weeks worth of detention.

Miss Jenkins had anger burning within her eyes as she did not expect to see her whole classroom be turned into a paintball arena in the short ten minutes that she had left for.

In front of her stood the eight students, all drenched from head to toe in paint, colourful hand prints covering their clothes and faces.

"Not only did you just waste a years worth supply of paint and completely ruin the room, but you are now lieing to my face too?" she yelled letting all her emotions free.

"We aren't! Kaycee and Sean both left so that they won't get hit by paint!" Tati pleaded, helping Sean out too but only to make sure that Kaycee isn't discovered. The others nodded along, although the boys were surprised by how great the girls' acting skills were.

"If that's so-"

"Miss Jenkins, I assume these two are yours?" The school janitor came in through the door pulling both Kaycee and Sean in by their collars.

20 minutes earlier...

"DETENTION! Detention to whoever one of you kids did this!"
Kaycee immediately looked up to see Sean freeze in his spot and turn to look back at her wide eyed.

"Sh#t" he whispered before zooming towards the door on the right side of the hallway.

After a few moments of twisting the door knob it creeked open loudly.

"I heard that!" Sean looked towards Kaycee who still stood motionless.

"Come on" he said looking to the open end of the hall and back at the girl, despite whatever issues they were having he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the class.

They ran to the door on the other side that led to another hall. They were looking both ways frantically, completely forgetting the fact that their hands were still interlocked.

"There!" Sean whisper yelled pointing down the hall where several large piles of books could hide them. Before they could get there, the janitor walked out from around the corner making them yelp and turn around sprinting in the other direction.

When the janitor was out of sight Kaycee noticed an open storage cupboard and pulled her partner in there so quickly, that he lost his balance and the two ended up tumbling to the floor.

Kaycee looked up only to see Sean above her, grinning downwards.

"Lock the door!" she whispered hearing the faint mumbling of their chaser from outside. Sean did as he was told and pulled the door closed.

He slowly pulled his hand away from the door only for a cough to catch his attention. He looked down at Kaycee in question, "Mind getting of me?". Indeed the two were still in the position they had ended up falling into, with Sean partially squishing Kaycee under himself.

"Uh, yeah" he mumbled awkwardly, getting a slight tint on his cheeks as he attempted to move in the little space they had.

"Wow, never knew that boy squad could get embarrassed" Kaycee commented while looking through the key hole.

"Oh come on, now you're just being petty!" Sean replied raising his voice slightly before Kaycee clapped a hand over his mouth.

"Shut it if you don't want to get caught" she said lowly and dangerously with a sweet smile.

"It's your fault that we're here anyway" Kaycee regretted removing her hand from Sean's mouth as now he had more chances to a, get them caught, and b, to annoy her.

"How is it my fault?" she asked not noticing her voice raise.

"If you didn't cover me in paint, the war thing wouldn't have happened!" exclaimed Sean getting to his feet, Kaycee following close behind.

"Oh is it now? If you are the rest of the boys didn't become such selfish jerks then there would have been no reason for you to start the whole paint thing!" Kaycee was now thoroughly annoyed at how blind Sean was towards his own behavior.

"You lot just got jealous of us, we don't need friends that don't support us!" the two were now face to face and to any onlooker it would seem like the two were about to kiss, except for the equal rage and anger in their eyes. They were now full on yelling and before a fight could break out the cupboard door clicked open.

"Game's over lovebirds"

Present time...

Miss Jenkins turned to look at the eight with a raised eyebrow. "So you're saying they ran to hide from the paint, huh? Then why are they covered in more paint than all of you combined?" It was true, the glitter paint had dried up on both of them creating the illusion of a thick paint layer.

"Not only them Miss, two hallways, a classroom and a storage cupboard all covered too. Found them hiding, nearly kissing in there!" The whole class looked surprised at Sean and Kaycee who stared wide eyed at one another.

"Were not!" The two exclaimed at once.

"Ah, I saw you two, standing so close that had I opened the door a second later you would have been eating each other's faces off" said the old janitor making animated movements to accompany his tale.

"More like beating each other's faces off" Kaycee mumbled as the class and the dance team laughed at how uncomfortable the pair looked.

"I'll leave them to you miss!" With that the man left leaving Sean and Kaycee to face their teacher.

"I mean you didn't say what we had to brighten up with the paints" Sean shrugged.

"And you used Kaycee as a canvas?"

"You could say that" Sean replied awkwardly scratching his neck, while everyone laughed.

"Ok, girls get a week of detention and the boys get two" the teacher said easily.

"What? Why do they get less? Surely it should be Sean amd Kaycee getting longer detentions!" Gabe tried to argue, making both Sean and Kaycee turn to him with looks asking  if he really was crazy.

"True but the boys initiated it therefore causing most damage. So no arguments now clear off home and get changed" the teacher waved them off resuming her assesment of the class.

The girls quickly grabbed their bags and left, all in paint and crazy hair. Before they could reach the exit though, someone stopped them.

"Where do you think you're going?" Ken's voice called from behind them.

"This isn't good" Char said.

"What do we do?" Asked Bailey not turning her head.

Kaycee was the one to reply " I know, RUN!" With that the five took off outside with the boys chasing behind them in an attempt to get revenge for their detentions.
