Not what I expected ...

"Can you two quit it with the JB songs! Now it's stuck in my head!" Gabe's complain was shortly followed by a smack on the head from Tati. "Or not.." he mumbled rubbing the spot.

"Ha, you're whipped!" Will too received a smack from Tahani. "Hey don't distract the driver!"

Sean looked at his friends amused, partially glad that he sat in the back meaning Kaycee wouldn't reach him. Speaking of her, Sean pulled himself up, placing his head on Kaycee's seat.

"Hey?" Sean's warm breath tickled Kaycee's neck, making her shiver at the temperature change from the breezy night.

Sean released a deep chuckle, pulling the girl's hood over her head with one hand, messing her hair up in the process "Cold?"

"Shut up, did you want something?" Kaycee turned to look at Sean, who seemed to have lost himself in the moment, mouth agape and eyes wide.

"Oh sorry, when we get there can I speak to you alone?" Sean whispered in hopes that the loud music would drown his words out.

Without a reason, a light tint of crimson appeared on Kaycee's cheeks. "Sure" both teens sat staring at each other, forgetting about the presence on anyone else. They've been doing this a lot lately, in class they would lock eyes in the mirror and in the canteen they would abandon their meals just indulge in wordless conversations with one another.

"We're here!" the three girls immediately looked out of the window to see an abandoned building site, lights glimmering at the top.

"Where's here?" Tati asked not taking her eyes of the place.

"Lets go and find out!" Sean and Will jumped out of the car dragging Kaycee and Tahani with them towards the building, while Tati and Gabe, being sensible, simply walked, enjoying each other's presence.

"Thanks Gabe" Tati spoke in a low voice.

"It was the boys' idea to pick the three of you up" Gabe replied shrugging a shoulder since Tati's head was on the other one.

"It's not that, it's just ... thank you for everything. I've had the best time with you this past month"

"This sounds like something you would say before a break up" Gabe said with a laugh, trying to calm his nerves.

"No, no, no! It's totally the opposite!" Tati rushed out "I just want us to keep on making new memories together, as a unit." Gabe relaxed, his heart tingling with warmth as he hugged the girl tightly into his side.

"We will baby girl..."

Further ahead of the couple, Tahani and Will were racing one another to the stairs while Kaycee and Sean filmed the whole thing.

"Go Hani!" the pair laughed as their friends disappeared up the stairs. "You look cute" Kaycee said suddenly.

Sean was a bit taken aback, blush creeping up his cheeks until he looked at the girl to see her pointing her phone at him with a sly grin.

"You're not putting a filter on me are you?" Sean groaned, and by Kaycee's giggles he could easily tell that he was right.

"That Shamu, is payback for going on my phone at the sleepover" Kaycee commented while posting the video on her Insta.

"You have to admit that was funny" the two started climbing up the crooked stairs to the roof of the building.

"Woah!" was all Kaycee could say about the sight. Fairy lights were scattered around a picnic blanket full of pillows and all sorts of snacks.

"Oh my God!" Tati squealed as she too saw the place. "How'd you guys do this?"

"We just thought, with you three going on tour and all the rehersals... we just wanted to spend some time with you now before it's too late" Will said with a sad smile as the girls all exchanged stunned looks.

"Oh guys, we'll miss you!" the three girls brought the boys in for a group hug making the entire squad explode in laughter, although Gabe still had an upset mood around him.

"Lets eat, we didn't put the effort in for nothing!" a series of cheers went around as they made their way to the picnic blanket, Gabe even carrying Tati there.

It must have been hours since they got there, all the food eaten and the six teens exhausted as ever. This may have been why, at the moment the six were laying in the most random of places, talking and laughing in tired voices.

"Pretty..." Kaycee looked down at her torso where Sean's head was to see the boy staring up into the sky. She too looked up at the glistening stars "Yeah... yeah they are"

A couple silent moments passed as the two gazed into the outer space before Sean's voice broke it. "Kayc, you know you said we could speak?" Kaycee immediately understood where Sean was heading, quickly nodding her head in approval.

Sean offered Kaycee a hand and the two headed to spot further away from the others. Soon enough they ended up sitting with their legs dangling off the edge of the rooftop.

"About the kiss..."

"Sean, we've spoken about this and we both know why it happened, so there isn't much to talk about really" it seemed as if Kaycee expected this to be the topic of the chat as her reply came too quickly even for herself.

Sean sighed "Kayc, it's not that, it's just...look I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being there for you after the party, and I'm sorry for not listening to you and about Ellie. I'm just really sorry about being so, so over reactive about everything. I just don't want to see you get hurt, with the whole Grant and Jack situation, Alex and Boy Squad, all of it... I would do anything just to not let you get hurt" by the end of his rant, Sean had tears spilling out of his eyes onto the pavement below as he hung his head in shame. Kaycee too, had tears streaming down her cheeks but not in sadness, rather in admiration of the boy beside her.

"Sean..." her voice racked "I promise, I won't get hurt but even if I do, I know you would always be there to save me" Kaycee smiled looping an asm around the boy's waist. He chuckled before engulfing her in a tight hug. Both of them felt so warm and right in each others presence-

"Oi you, get down from there!" the two teens broke apart quickly, looking back at their friends, who too heard the shout and were now sat up wide eyed. Slowly they looked down to see a man waving his broom around.

"Was this a part of the surprise?" Kaycee asked with a laugh as Sean shook his head.

"Always the cleaners ruining the best moments."

Really sorry for the late chapters but I'm on break next week so the uploads should become more consistent.

I finally decided on how I want the book to end but I can't tell you how many more chapters I will write before the finale, all I can say is that the ending should be pretty cute.
