Before Everything

Chapter 22

Mike and I were walking down the hallway and holding hands when we saw Blake teasing Nia.

"So how are things with you, you little piece of heaven?" Blake said with a flirty tone in his voice.

I saw that Nia was trying so hard not to scream I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU.

"Everything is fine, thanks for asking," She said with a controlled voice.
"Well, how would you feel, if I would make you feel even better, and the fine would change into perfect? Go on a date with me."

Nia blushed and she was trying to hold a scream inside of her. But you know Nia, she couldn't.
"OF COURSE, I WILL COME!"
"Great, I'll pick you up from your house at 7 p.m."

Then Mike ran towards Blake and whispered something to his ear. Gosh, he looks good when he runs.

"Ohh, Nia... change of plans. I was going to prep Mike for his date with Mad... OUCH, MIKE DON'T KICK ME. Sorry, I was going to help Mike with homework today at 7 p.m. sooo Mike suggested that we could all go on a double date?"

Nia looked at me and asked with her eyes if it is okay and I nodded.

"Yeah, of course, it's fine!"
"We can go in my car and we'll pick you girls up at 8 p.m.?" Mike asked.
Everybody agreed with him and the boys and us girls separated.

Nia enlargened her eyes and started to scream. Blake heard that, turned around and laughed.
"I can't believe that I'm going out with Blake Lewis!! And actually also with Michael Blevins!! Maaaan, aren't we girls just so lucky!!"

"Yeah, we sure are!!" I said and we laughed together. I haven't even thought about it, but we really got the school's hottest and the most wanted boys, us "the Nobodys". Although I was a somebody, no one knew that. Which is fine with me because I have to have some peace in school.

Our school day ended at 4 p.m. and after that, we went to Nia's house, grabbed her clothes, makeup and hair straightener. Before we even thought about going straight to my house, we went to Chung Chang Ziu and ordered our regular order, Kung Pao Chicken with extra rice. When we got home, we ate quickly and then we started the harsh preparation for our double date.

Nia straightened her naturally curly hair, did a beautiful makeup and chose her best dress and high heels. She looked very beautiful. I did a simple braid hairdo, my regular makeup with a little bit of extra highlighter and just a little bit bigger cat liners.

When I entered my closet, I started to panic. I had absolutely nothing to wear. Everything was either too shiny, too loose, too tight or too childish. But with Nia's help, I found the perfect dress. It was a black, off the shoulder dress which widened at the end. Then I took my present from my last premiere, a diamond bracelet and put it on my hand.

Just when I got the lock closed, I heard Mike's car horn from outside of the house. Nia and I ran downstairs, hugged my mom and opened the front door where we saw our two handsome boys. Mike was just about to ring the doorbell.

"Wow, you were quick," he said and placed his hands around me.

Meanwhile, Blake and Nia started the complimenting already.
"Nia, you look beautiful tonight," Blake said and watched Nia from head to toe and back.

"Well, I better look good because we started to get ready when it was like 5 p.m.," Nia laughed and gave Blake a small kiss on the cheek.

"Mike, did you hear that? It took us like 45 minutes to get in this shape. Although I had to convince Mike that everything will go perfectly and I gave him some manly advic..." Mike looked at Blake very angrily. "And I wasn't supposed to say that... Sorry, bro!" He continued and hanged his head down.
