When I got back inside, I leaned on the door, closed my eyes and let out a dreamy sigh out loud.
"You missy are in big trouble."
~~~
There he was standing smugly in front of me.
"Ty, what the hell!!! You scared the living sh-"
"Language young missy," Ty smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"But seriously sis, you're in trouble." This time he looked serious.
"What...?"
"You're falling for Blevins, and you're falling fast and hard."
"What if I am?" I asked not really catching what he was trying to tell me.
"I'm just worried, that's all. I know Blevins is a good guy, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't worry about you getting hurt." I sighed and walked over to him and hugged him.
He wrapped his arms around me. I've missed this. Feeling the brotherly love. We have always been very close with Ty and he's been my rock for so long, so when he left to military it was hard for me. But it was also good for me because that way I had to learn that you can't always lean on other people.
"Thanks, Ty. I really appreciate your worry. But there's no need because I sincerely believe that he wouldn't hurt me.
"But-"
"BUT if he does, then I know you'll be the first one to go and beat him up." I smiled up at him and he smiled back.
"I love you, sis," He said and ruffled my hair.
"I love you too, Ty," Then he turned around to walk away.
"Wait, Ty?" I called after him. He turned around and looked curious.
"What did you and Mike talk about?" I asked him. He smirked and turned around again.
"It's a secret!" He shouted playfully. I sighed. I guess I'll never find out.
Friday
I woke up on Friday morning and I was really excited. Yeah, it was a school day but it was also the day of the basketball game.
Mike was, of course, going to be playing. From what I understood, the game was going to be interesting. The teams were almost equal.
Our team was supposed to be a little better though, so we are hoping for a win. I was really excited to see Mike play again.
Nia was also excited, but for a different reason. She was excited because Blake was playing. At the last game Nia was just a fangirl but now she and Blake are "friends" as I like to call the pair.
The school day was just like any other day. The school was boring, I sat with Mike at lunch and Nia and I talked about the upcoming game.
Finally, it was the time of the day that I had been waiting for, the game was about to start. I was so excited!
The players were in their locker rooms getting ready and the bleachers were full of people. The game was about to start!
Mike's Pov
"Sixteen. Sixteen more minutes. Get ready. Game on."
Our coach yelled at us and lift the team spirit to the roof. Blake and I took our 'the captain and the co-captain' roles and started to yell our cheerings and all the other players answered.
"WHAT TEAM?"
"TIGERS!"
"WHAT TEAM?"
"TIGERS!
"WHAT TEAM?"
"TIGERS, PUT YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!"
We ran to the gym. Everybody was shouting and cheering for us. This was an important game. If we win the game, we will be at the finals in the State Cup.
And if we win that, we will be NYC's best basketball team and then we would be competing against the other states' best teams. And eventually, the winner will be the best American high school basketball team. So it meant a lot to us. Luckily, we were supposed to be a little better than the opposite team.
