Before we even realized Mike was parking his car in our driveway.
"Wait," I said and kept my eyes on the person who was standing in front of our door. The engine stopped. We got out of the car.
"Wait here. I'll go check, " Mike said.
The person turned around and waved his hand. My eyes went wide and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"NO WAY! IS IT REALLY YOU?" I asked the person unable to believe my eyes.~~~
The person laughed out loud.
"Come on sis, give me a hug." Ty chuckled and opened his arms wide.I jumped out of Mike's car and ran to his arms. He lifted my feet off the ground and twirled me around causing me to giggle. Just like old times.
"I can't believe you're here," I said breathlessly.
"In the flesh and I'm here to stay and finish my studies."
"Okay, that's nice. Did you get your thoughts cleared there?" I asked him but noticed that Ty's eyes were trained on something behind me. I turned around and noticed that Mike was still there."So, who's your friend? He looks kinda familiar."
"Oh, that's Michael Blevins, he is the basketball team's captain nowadays."
"That's Mike?" Ty asked surprised. I just nodded."Hey Blevins, what are you waiting for? Come here!" Ty shouted so loud that I was pretty sure that Mike heard that.
Mike just got out and walked towards us I gave him a grin that he returned.
"What's up, Johnson?" Mike asked. Ty gave him a grin and they did the bro hug thing.
"So how's coach? Is his hair already grey?" Ty chuckled and Mike joined him as well. I thought it was probably an inside joke.
"Surprisingly not yet."
Ty just nodded thoughtfully."So how did you meet my little sister?" Ty asked, I blushed and Mike looked awkward. Ty just looked confused about our reaction.
"Wait, am I missing something here? Are you two more than friends then?" I blushed even more and Mike rubbed his neck and cleared his throat.
"Oh, I see what's going on." Ty gave me a wink. And I started coughing awkwardly.
"Just don't hurt my sister man. Otherwise, I'm completely fine with whatever the hell is going on between you."
I cleared my throat.
"Yeah thanks for your blessing Ty," I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes. Even though, it made me feel better that he liked Mike."Well, sis I'll go inside now. We'll talk later. Bye Blevins." He turned around and gave us a wave and went inside.
There was a very awkward silence between Mike and me. I was staring at the ground until I heard him clear his throat.
"So... your brother is home."
I chuckled at that.
"Yeah, it looks like he is." I couldn't help the huge smile that appeared on my face."I should probably get going then." Mike rubbed his neck and looked at me under his lashes. Somehow I didn't want him to go yet.
"Actually, would you mind coming inside? I kinda need some help with math. If you wouldn't mind helping me?" I said awkwardly and stared at the ground and fumbled with my hands.
"Sure. My training got canceled anyway. And maybe you could proofread my paper that is due tomorrow?"
"Okay, come on then." And we walked together inside.I saw Ty already sprawled on the couch watching some kind of action movie. I chuckled at the sight. At least the house wouldn't be so quiet anymore. We went upstairs and I left Mike in my room while I went back down to get some snacks.
As I was rinsing some grapes and putting some cookies on a tray, someone spoke behind me giving me quite the scare.
"So look at that. My little sister is already bringing boys home." Ty said from behind me. Since when did he enter the kitchen?
