"I want a DNA test." Liam demanded.
"On an unborn child?" I questioned.
"Well then, once it's born."
"Liam." I sighed, sitting on the couch. "This is a hundred percent your baby, yes I used to party but never did with anyone else what I did with you."
"I'm surprised you can remember your parties." He said, sitting beside me.
"I was always in control Liam." I said.
"What makes you so sure I'm the Dad?"
"You're the only guy I've ever had sex with." I confessed. "And unless there's some new way to get pregnant by sharing drink or pills, you're the only possible person it could be."
"Maddy, I had no idea." He said. "I wish I could relate but I've been doing girls since I was fourteen."
I smiled at him. "Whore."
"I thought we were having a moment here? You know, you were actually being nice for once?"
"It's limited." I said.
"Well Maddy," He said, tossing the stick on to the table. "Of course I'll support you and I wanted to be as involved as possible."
"Really?" I asked, in a shocked and blunt tone. I actually hoped he didn't want anything to do with it, this would be so much easier on my own, although my parents would disagree.
"In fact, I want you to move in with me." He said. "My house is big enough and my parents wouldn't mind at all."
"Liam, theres one large problem with that." I said. "I can't stand you."
"Just think about it Maddy, I don't want to miss a thing." He said, standing up. "I'll be in touch."
* * *
"He said what!" My mum exclaimed.
"Exactly! I'd rather do this on my own, I don't want his help nor do I need it." I replied.
"Oh honey, you do." Rachel said. "Take it from a mother of two, babies are hard. They're smelly and time consuming and gross most of the time, it's a blessing in disguise, trust me."
"Thanks." Adam scoffed from beside me, swinging a beer.
"I don't care how hard it is, I have all of you, I am not moving in with him." I said.
"With who?" Will asked, stopping beside me.
"I think we should talk." I said. "Rachel, can you tell Dad for me? I can't face it."
"Of course." She said.
Will and I walked over to two large arm chairs that faced each other. "So what happened with Liam, you know after Ross rightfully punched him in the face?"
"He said he wants to be involved, he even asked me to move in with him." I said. Instantly, Will's face dropped and a look of panic broadened across his face. "Which of course I'm not going to: I can't stand him!"
"So how'd he take that?" Will asked.
"He told me to think about it." I replied.
Will nodded. "I mean it Will, I was hoping he'd want nothing to do with it."
"I believe you." He said.
"I also want you to know the stuff he said outside was partially true. I was a party girl before all this, I stayed out most nights drinking and stuff but I never slept around with any guys."
"Good." He grinned. "Because I was kind of hoping, you'd be my girlfriend?"
"Really?" I smiled.
"If you're not too busy, with all this baby stuff." He laughed.
"I'd love to." I smiled, reaching across and holding his hands.
Ross's POV:
I stepped into the pub and immediately my attention was drawn to Maddy, like it always was lately. No matter who was around, I could only ever see her but then I noticed Will sat opposite her, their hands latched over the table.
"You two look cosy." I commented, leaning over the back of Maddy's chair.
"Yup." Maddy said. "And we'll be super cosy later."
"Do I even get a say in this?" Will laughed.
"You gonna turn me down?" She questioned.
"Definitely not."
It killed me to know they were going to do it later or anything later, it killed me that Will had got to her first. I wanted her before he even lay his eyes on her. I didn't understand, she took my comments and equally threw them back to me, she was my perfect girl: sassy, quick witted and of course fit. Why did Will get her and not me?
So as I always had to do around Maddy, I covered up my love with humour.
"Surprised you're even still here, most people don't make it through his first sentence before falling asleep." I scoffed.
"You think you're really smart, don't you?" Maddy asked.
"I don't think, I know." I grinned. "So why are you two so chipper?"
"Will just asked me to be his girlfriend." She smiled.
"Great." I eye rolled. "My round then?"
I walked over to the bar, leaning over it and ordering my usual.
"Ross, wait." I heard Maddy call before she appeared by my side.
She had these beautiful brown eyes that I couldn't help but stare into, her little frame made me want to hold her and protect her but she had a poisonous tongue which carried her well but I could see behind her front, some days easier than others.
"Thank you for earlier." She said. "You've always protected my honour and it's something I don't take lightly."
"Well he deserved it." I replied.
"Here you go." Claire said, setting the pint down on the wooden bar.
"How about you buy me this drink and we call it even?" I smirked.
"I get free drinks so sure." Maddy grinned. Her smile was perfect, it revealed her straight teeth enough to show them but not too much. Her grin gave her two little dimples that was adorable and creased her eyes the perfect amount.
She walked back over to Will, my brother, and sat down.
Brothers girl.
