"That was insane!" I exclaimed once we'd passed the finish line, throwing my arms around Ross.
"Well done." Jace said.
"So we're done, I'm clear of my debt to you?" Ross questioned.
"Unless you want to do more? You're a real money maker, you've got a talent."
Ross looked beside him at me, I felt his hand against my back and it rubbed a few small circles against my skin. "I'm good." He said.
"Then yes, you're debt is gone."
"Then let's go." Ross said, leading me away from the crowd of people.
* * *
"I can't believe we just did that!" I continued as we got out of the car.
"Have a got a little fan girl?" Ross laughed, slinking an arm around my shoulders.
Naturally I wrapped my arms around his waist as we walked down the street, the sound of my wedged boots echoing against the concrete.
"This is doing wonders for you ego, isn't it?" I questioned.
Ross laughed but then it suddenly stopped as he stared forward. I followed his viewpoint to see Will stood at the bottom of the road.
"So this is why you couldn't give me a reason?" Will bellowed, approaching us. "Because you've been doing him at the same time."
Everyone's mood suddenly changed and I wished the ground could of swallowed me up whole. I retrieved my arms from around Ross and stood in front of him. "I wanted to tell you."
"But not enough to actually tell me." He snapped. "Look at me!"
I tore my eyes from the ground to meet his. "I'm sorry." I repeated. "Having Lilli changed everything for me, made my feelings for Ross stand out more, I don't know, all I know is I never meant for you to find out like this."
"Or at all." He spat.
"I was going to tell you."
"When!" He roared.
"Don't yell at her, it's not her fault." Ross spoke up, stepping in front of me.
"And here he is, hero Ross." Will snapped.
"Oh so that's what this is about." Ross laughed, clasping his hands together. "I've finally got something you wanted, I've won and you can't handle that."
Will lunged at Ross, throwing a fist at his face. I guess deep down part of the reason Ross wanted me was because Will had me. I never understood sibling rivalry because I was an only child but this looks like it at its finest.
The two brothers rolled around the floor, equally beating the crap out of each other.
"Stop it!" I yelled but they were both consumed by their anger for each other.
I heard the familiar sound of one of our rattily repair trucks from the garage, I looked over my shoulder to see the blue vehicle coming out way and inside my dad.
I ran into the middle of the street towards the truck, my dad slammed on the breaks, stopped a few meters in front of me. "You idiot! What are you doing?" Dad snapped, stepping out of the truck.
"Come on." I ordered him, running back over to the boys.
By now Ross and Will's Dad had arrived and was struggling to keep them separate as he held back Ross.
My dad ran over to Will who was continuing to wind up Ross as he fought against their father. "Second best Ross, that's all you are." Will smirked as my dad stepped in front of him.
"You're better than him." Dad said to him. "Don't give him the satisfaction."
"Walk it off!" John ordered Ross in a yell, pushing him away from Will.
Ross spat some blood to the ground before storming down the street.
"Did you know?" Will asked him in a slightly lower tone.
"I know everything that goes on with my daughter." He said. "Of course I knew."
Will pushed off my dad who was holding him still. "Guess I won't be needing this anymore." Will hissed, throwing the ring box at my feet before wiping his bloody nose and walking in the opposite direction to Ross.
I crouched down, picking up the ring. It was beautiful and sparkling in the sunlight. I looked over at my dad.
"I warned you." He said before walking back over to his truck.
I sighed, I didn't know who to go after.
