*Theo’s POV*
“That was really good today,” I said to Shailene, as we walked down the dark road to our apartment. A car dropped us off here after we had done all the filming we needed for the night.
“I agree,”
I looked down at her. She still had on a solid loose button down shirt with jeans this time. I smiled as I looked at her funny shoes that had a space for every toe. It’s so beautiful how she doesn’t care what anybody thinks of her, as long as she is happy with herself and it shows how comfortable she is in her skin. There’s always something interesting to learn when it comes to her. She is so confident and self assured. She looked up at me.
“What?” She said, a smile spreading across her face.
“Nothing,”
I’m glad I can be able to be around her again. For some reason I get anxiety when I don’t see her for a while. She is so small, and I get really protective of her. It’s good for me to be around her, because you never know what could happen…
“So do you like working with Rob?” I asked.
“Yeah, he’s a great guy. I guess it’s good that Insurgent gets a new director to take a spin on it, and Neil will be there sometimes too, so that makes me happy that he isn’t entirely out of the process, since he is the one that cast us in the first place.”
My stomach growled. “I’m starving,”
“Me too,”
“Do you want to get something to eat?”
She looked around. “I’d rather not search for a place tonight, I’m too hungry to find a good restaurant so late at night. If Ruth is sleeping and you don’t want to wake her, you could come over and I’ll make you something.”
“Umm, yeah. That sounds good.”
“Hey,” She murmured, stopping walking and touching my arm. Her eyes hardened a little as she looked at me seriously. “I didn’t get her upset today, did I? With me being there?”
My eyebrows furrowed. I don’t want her to have to worry about Ruth… She shouldn’t have to worry. “No, she is fine with us hanging out. She knows we hung out practically every day for Divergent.”
The crease between her eyebrows disappeared and she started walking again. “Okay. She seems really nice, you know.”
I doubt she seems nice to other people… She can be a little forceful with her words, but it figures that Shai would see the best in her. Shai see’s the best in everybody. “Yeah... Thank you. She said you seem nice as well”
She smiled. “Really?”
“Yeah,” I lied.
We reached the front of our apartment building, which seemed to have collected a few people. Some girls were standing outside by a security guard. They didn’t seem to be in trouble, they must be waiting for us. They started squealing when they saw us. I saw Shailene stand up a little taller in my peripheral vision, and she started smiling as we neared them.
“Shailene, Theo!” One girl said.
“OHMYGOD!”
“Holy crap, I’m going to start crying. We’ve been out here for two hours.”
“Aw, I see your Tris tattoo!”
Shailene started to give them hugs, and I decided to give the girls hugs as well. Two of them were crying and they all seemed so shocked.
