Don't Give Up- Liam centric

Liam is a 14 year old boy who was diagnosed with Leukaemia just after his 5th birthday, when he was 8 he was announced in remission, however just before his 12th he began feeling pains in his leg as well as his head. Going to the hospital he began feeling scared, what i his cancer had returned, his parents had passed away three years prior meaning he had no way of paying for the treatment.

Unfortunately the cancer was back, this time in his legs. On his birthday he had surgery to remove his right leg to stop the cancer from spreading anywhere else. The headaches he had been experiencing were just his body's way of telling him something wasn't right. Chemotherapy was started two weeks after he turned 13.

Doctors were worried as Liam was losing the will to fight, especially since he had been told that the amount of Chemo he was about to get would take him up to his 14th birthday. They knew how much of a fan he was of the trio band One Direction and planned to surprise him with them coming to see him. Hopefully this would help him as he had no family nor did he make many friends, apart from his main nurse Nurse Styles. 

"Liam buddy, I need to hook you up" a gentle voice said, waking up the venerable 13 year old

"I don't want to fight anymore Harry, I have no family to go home to" Liam whimpered, but allowed his nurse to attached the drug into his central line

"When am I going to meet your boyfriend Hazzy?" Liam asked as he sat up slowly, wincing as he knocked his still tender leg

"He's no longer my boyfriend, he proposed last night" Harry said grinning widely 

"I wish I was well enough to go to the wedding" Liam said sadly knowing he wasn't allowed to leave the hospital  

"You'll be better by then, I have a surprised for you today anyway, you'll be getting to meet my fiancé and two of his mates today" Harry said hoping that by Liam seeing his idols he'd continue to fight

"I just wanna die Harry, what's the point in fighting, I'm an orphan and no one will want to adopt a sick orphan" Liam whispered 

"We would" a voice said from the door making Liam look up 

"What are they doing here Hazz?" Liam asked, eyes wide as he looked at two of his three idols, Niall and Zayn

"Well you see, I'm marrying the third member of this band, and I thought maybe you'd fight knowing that you've already a family that want to adopt you" Harry said, just as a the third member walked into the room 

"You did this for me?" Liam asked, eyes tearing up slightly 

"Liam, I've been helping you for almost your whole life, I couldn't just let you stop fighting buddy" Harry said, bringing the now crying boy into his arms

"Harry, why don't we give Ni and Zee some time with their new son" Louis spoke from the side, smiling wide at the boy who hugged his husband to be

"You deserve this Liam, take it in your grasp" Harry whispered as he walked out with his partner 

Once Harry and Louis had left the room, Zayn and Niall sat down beside Liam who smiled shyly at them. All of a sudden emotions took over Liam's body and he burst into tears, reaching for Niall who instantly took the boy into his arms and cuddled him, being wary of the many wires which kept Liam alive. 

"No need to cry little boy, daddy has you" Niall soothed, kissing Liam's forehead gently 

"I wanna go home, don't wanna stay here anymore" Liam cried, grasping Nialls shirt tightly 

"And we will go home, you just need to finish your treatment" Zayn cooed from beside his husband of four years

"Just calm down for us baby boy" Niall soothed, still not moving his lips from the boys forehead 

"He's fallen asleep Ni" Zayn whispered as he saw the boys eyes flutter close

"I can't believe we finally get to have our son" Niall said smiling at his husband who lent forward and kissed his lips lovingly 

TWO YEARS LATER 

Liam had now been NED for a year and a half, Harry had a feeling it was because he was surrounded by love and care. He still had moments when he'd want to give up as his life was never going to be normal but Liam finally had a family who loved him and protected him. He was the ring man at Harry and Louis wedding, and the date just os happened to be the same date as when he was first diagnosed with cancer. That led to a lot of tears but now the date has something more meaningful to everyone.
