plagarism actually discourages the authors whose books have been plagarized.

stop it, get some help. :)))

NINE
era: 1788, lion

the day after that confusing conversation, the guys went to a convention, where the members of an association created by the citizens decided to hold the meeting.

everyone except for lucas obviously who wanted to keep an eye on me, although i knew he just wanted to keep me out of their business.

i didn't mind being with him, since he suggested to do a tour of the outskirts.

so after we had breakfast,
we changed into “normal” clothes for the blonde always thought that being an undercover noble in the midst of so many bourgeois, was way more exciting than being recognized as the king.

«people treat me as if i was one of them, unaware of the fact that i'm probably the person who most of them are against to...»

the male said with a low voice as he fixed the collar of his light blue shirt,
walking towards the exit of the palace.

i quickly moved next to him, looking forward to our small trip: i've always been amazed by what to others looked like a chaotic life.

right at the entrance of the castle was a white carriage, a man sitting at the edge of it on a wooden bar while holding the reins of the two horses guiding it.

we slowly entered the rectangular shaped veichle as it immediately started moving, the relaxing sound of our sorroundings lulling our journey.

«oh, right...
in occasions like this call me yukhei, got it?»

lucas asked raising an eyebrow.
i nodded, processing the information and shifted my attention to what the windows of the carriage showed us.

after what seemed like an eternity, we finally arrived at the gates of lion's suburbia where the first thing that welcomed us was the sweet scent of candy apples.

as we walked across the main streets, i could easily hear the same things i caught up yesterday:

the same loud, yet cheerful market full of all kinds of items and vendors.
delicious street food being fully displayed, while some sneaky kids tried to snatch a bit of it, without getting caught.

ladies chatting with each other, while sipping on their hot teas as they sat on cute coloured tables.
in contrast with the deep and rough laughs coming out of various pubs and taverns.

after getting some pastries for the others, we decided to buy some candy apples.

i shyly went to the stall and caught the attention of the vendor, who honestly looked much younger than me

«his name is jisung and yes, he's younger than you...»

lucas softly whispered.

«oh i see...»

anyway, i had to buy the candy apples.

«can i have two candy ap-»

i was about to ask, but eventually got interrupted by someone mentioning lucas' name

«yukhei

a voice called,
both me and lucas turned towards the source of the sudden sound only to find a young boy running towards our direction.

his smile was wide, unlike his eyes which seemed to disappear in two cute crescents.
the boy looked so joyous in that moment, making me wonder what happened.

i soon realized that behind him were many other people, all with the same happy expression — sharing only God knows what good news.

«hey chenle, what's going on?»

the latter asked a bit confused as he stared at the younger panting because of the running, his hands on his knees.

«the kings and the nobles are going to be in trouble!»

the so called chenle said grinning at us,
the excitement in lucas' face disappearing as he heard what his little friend confessed.

«what do you mean?»

the tall male standing next to me asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to understand the situation.

i stared at the two in pure confusion, a sense of fear started filling me up as i craved for further details as well.

«the kings weren't able to meet the mob's requirements and today the association gave them the last warning!»

«are the kings still there now?»

«no, they're already on their way home»

chenle exclaimed as he sprinted to jisung while waving at us, his bright smile fully displayed.

lucas remained silent for awhile and then turned towards me with a serious look, he stretched out his arm and with a small yet sad smile he asked

«let's go back home?»

[...]

«what is going on, lucas

«nothing, trust me...»

he answered not even looking at me, instead he continued staring out of the window with a thoughtful expression.

i knew he was hiding something from me, but i couldn't even imagine what.

history, history...

if only i listened to mr. moon's lessons.

«why are you being like this?»

i continued asking, this time i was a bit pissed off — i disliked it, when people would hide things from me.
i couldn't stand it.

«because i promised you that you won't regret being here.

and because someone like you only deserve this world's beauty.

i won't permit you to get involved in such a useless mess.»

lucas affirmed, standing up and walking towards me.
he gently caressed my cheek, moving a small strand of hair that was slightly covering my face.

i shook my head, breaking the contact between my face and his warm arm and stood up as well.

«where are you going?»

the blonde male quickly asked me

«to the garden.
don't worry, i won't run away...»

and with that, i closed the door behind me, my heels echoing in the large alleys,
leaving a speechless lucas in the living room — alone.

unedited.
