(10 years after Morgan's death)
Kevin's point of view
Well, I didn't forget.
Ten years ago, Morgan got upset because I forgot about the ten year anniversary of my sister Annabelle.
She thought that ten years after she died, I would forget about her. But I didn't.
I think about her every single day.
I still haven't loved anyone else. Two months after Morgan's death, Ashley tried to call me. She wanted to 'see' me one more time before she went to court for attempting to kill Morgan.
Emily still tried to. At least she had the audacity to wait a year.
There's a knock on my door and I get up to answer it.
"Uncle Kevin!" The little girl runs up and hugs me.
"Hey, Elizabeth!" I say, hugging her back. "Hey guys."
"Hey," Julian says.
"How are you?" Natasha asks me, and I shrug.
"Alright." There's a knock on the door a minute later and Liam and Rachel walk in.
"Hey!" Natasha says, "Congratulations, you guys! I haven't seen you since the big night!"
"Natasha, the wedding was three days ago."
"Still." Addison comes in and takes off her coat and closes her umbrella.
"God, the rain is terrible!" She says, and goes to hug Rachel. "How are you guys?"
"Good!"
"Where is Juliette?" Natasha asks, referring to Addison's wife.
"She couldn't get time off work." She says.
Ben comes in and sits down. He still doesn't say much, he never does.
Nolan comes in soon after, holding a laptop.
"Hey." He says. "I have something that I want to show you guys." He sets the laptop down and connects it to the television. It's a video, and the thumbnail is a picture of Morgan.
"Nolan, what is this?" I ask, and he doesn't say anything, just presses play.
"Hey guys, if you're watching this, it's been ten years." Her voice brings tears to my eyes because I almost forgot what it sounded like. "By now, Natasha and Julian have your baby girl, and I bet she's just beautiful. I'm sure she has a wonderful name. I hope Ashley is in jail, because I hate that bitch." I look over at Elizabeth who's putting a hand over her mouth because she just heard a swear word. "I miss you guys." Morgan says, "I'm sure you guys are all okay now. Rachel, I hope you're still dating my brother."
She looks behind the camera and starts talking to Nolan. "Hey, uh, maybe you shouldn't keep that in because if they broke up that would just be super awkward." They laugh just a little bit and then Morgan gets back into the original position.
"Ben, start talking, buddy. Nobody is going to judge you for talking to them. I really hope you could get over your crush on Addison, wait, Nolan, don't put that in either."
"What?" Addison says, "Ben, did you have a crush on me in high school?"
"Guilty." He says with a smile.
"I hope Liam found a really great new house that he lives in. And I hope you bought a dog. And Liam, if you don't have a dog when you watch this, please go buy a dog. A golden retriever would be nice, or maybe a yellow lab. And give it a cute name, like Zoey. I've always loved that name for a dog.
"And Kevin. She says, God, I miss you so much, I'm sure. There isn't really much more I can say to you that probably hasn't already been said, you know? I love you so, so, so much. I hope you're okay. I hope you're doing everything you wanted to do. I know you're capable of so many amazing things, and I can't wait to see what happens with you next. I love you. I love all of you, and I can't wait for all of you ass holes to die so that you can come visit me." She laughs, "I'm joking. Kind of. Anyway, see you when I see you. Bye."
The video cuts out and we all just kind of sit there in shock.
Elizabeth breaks the silence.
"Mom, auntie Morgan said a swear word."
We all laugh at her, and she blushes from all the attention.
I'll be okay.
It doesn't seem like it yet, but it will.
I know it.
