Death #18: Morning at the Mansion

Hayden's POV:

Sun has risen in the corner of the room, I opened my eyes and stared at the window. This is my first time seeing the sun because I can't even watch the sun rise inside Morwittz.

Part of Morwittz, wala kang makikitang sikat ng araw. You can only see is the trees outside your window.

I took a deep breath as I look at the ceiling, I eventually zoned out.

The dinner last night was nearly a mess. Ligia lost her cool, Mr. Fontenelle also at the edge of being extremely mad, and Nowen couldn't handle them at the dining table.

I was alerted when someone yawned beside me. Unti-unti akong lumingon and I saw Nowen stretching his whole body under the blanket. Pagkatapos no'n ay tumalikod siya ng higa saakin,

I can't believe I just slept on the same bed with him.

Malayo pa rin naman siya saakin, nasa dulo siya ng kama habang ako ay nasa kabilang dulo rin. Since both of us seems to be not that moving a lot while sleeping, we kept the safe distance between us throughout the night. Well that's at least what I hope that happened.

I sat on the bed carefully to stretch my arms. Sinandal ko ang likuran ko a bed frame at walang imik na nagpa-plano kung anong gagawin ko.

Going outside without Nowen's permission might go wrong. Wala ako sa bahay namin kaya hindi ko alam kung pwede ba akong lumabas ng kwarto.

I frowned when I felt Nowen moved. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes and saw him already facing me.

"What time is it?" he asked with his morning voice while his eyes are still closed.

Marahas ako bumuga ng hinga. "How can I know? Wala naman kayong orasan sa guest room niyo." mahinang reklamo ko sakanya.

Hindi nalang siya nag-salita. Bumangon siya bago umalis sa kama.

"You're hungry?"

"I can't believe we slept in the same bed."

He stared at me for a couple of seconds. "That's not actually the answer."

"I'm aware." tinanggal ko ang blanket at tumayo na rin.

"Then, why are you acting like something happened between us?"

"Ha?" I was dumbfounded. Nabigla ako sa sinabi niya.

"I told you, you're not my type."

"We're even!"

"Then, stop acting like that."

"I'm not being hysterical!"

"I know."

"Then stop looking at me!" timabunan ko ang mukha ko gamit ang dalawang palad ko.

There was a long silence between us after that.

He's obviously enjoying his time to tease me early in the morning!

"What do you want for breakfast?"

Dahan-dahan kong binaba ang kamay ko. "Pancakes." tipid na sagot ko habang hindi makatingin sakanya.

"Are you being shy now?"

"As if."

"You nearly occupied the whole bed while hugging my waist last night."
