Blaire's POV

"It's eight-thirty,” the joy in Lily's voice echoed, “Duty is almost over, let's get changed for the party," Lily whined after rattling with some stuff around her drawer.

"Yeah, cool. I'm having a shopper at hand," I glanced up at her and smiled.

I scanned the basket of my customer and smiled at him while the door cracked open and a man, huge and tall, full of rant and rave appeared. He swarmed right up to me with his companion. For a moment, everything seemed to have stopped. Rather, it went so fast that my mind couldn't chase.

He shoved the boy aside. Perspiration appeared on my forehead and my throat clenched at the condition. No sooner could I figure him out than I was at his gunpoint. My hands trembled as I opened the cash and then the sound of firing.

I stood in a stiff position. My eyes went wide as I watched him carefully. Several scratches and marks covered his face and body as if he had just walked out of a war. His hand had a deep and long cut mark. He was huge and well-built, tall, broad and strong with wide muscles on his body.

The man turned at the sound and I utilized that very chance to get out of the counter and escape. Without a second thought, I slipped past the counter and ran across. Outside I could see blue and red lights almost covering the whole area, painting the area with blue-red and the sirens continuously ringing in my ears. Not a moment had I wasted, still, I couldn't break out as a hand reached out for my hair, holding it tight almost ripping it out of my scalp. I turned my head over my shoulder to find that man.

"Bill, leave the departmental store and surrender, we have bound you from all sides. You can't depart. Better lay down your arms" an announcement went off.

Alright, his name is Bill.

My head almost ripped apart in pain but I didn't make a single hush. My throat dried up and legs trembled, my knees felt fragile but a reminder went on in my mind that I can't give up. I have to subsist. I have to fight for our life. The owner must've fled away.

But as he tucked the gun inside my mouth, I closed my eyes to have this as the last night of my life. The cold metal brushed against the roof of my mouth and hurt my teeth. My scalp tore in pain and the gunpowder stink in my mouth. My lungs struggled for air and my throat clenched up with thirst. Suddenly, a striking figure appeared. Lean and tall with sand brown hairs and icy blue eyes went along with the tanned yet paleness of his skin. Lean muscles covered his body. In one word he was utterly handsome. An example of absolute perfection. It was the guy who was shopping.

"Hey Bill, calm down!" he demanded.

Bill aimed the gun at the young lad. I used the opportunity to get away from him but he stashed the pistol at the back of my head. The heavy metal met my skull almost cracking it. Pain surged through me. He threw me to the floor and I lay there wrapped in pain, in a pool of blood. The world almost blurred out. Out of my vague vision, I could see the young man speaking to him.

"Hey," he exhaled deeply, "I'm Christian Woods, brother of Christopher, the one who was your mate," he alleged.

"Let's just talk and sort this out, alright? Wine?" he asked.

Bill sat on a chair. Christian passed by me to fetch the wine bottles. He grabbed the bottles, glanced at me and winked. Not that 'come-on' type of wink. It was like 'just-play-on' type. It was enough for me to understand that he wanted to rescue us by keeping Bill calm.

But with the unbearable pain and injuries, the world already blurred out for me. With my fuzzy visualisation, I could only take notice of the voices as the men drank. I could see another person coming on-screen. The fact crossed my mind that Lily was still here, my accent trembled as I blurted out the words, "ESCAPE, Lily---get out of here. FAST."

At my voice, Bill stood up throwing the wine bottle behind him which was directly smashed at my head. I cried out in pain as the glass pricked into my cranium. The only noise I heard was of two shots fired...

In no moment Lily was maybe dead, the beautiful blond lay there still. She looked like an angel and now she might really be one. Pain once again hit me. Not in my head but in my heart this time. I couldn't imagine Lily being dead. Tears rolled down my cheeks. We were inseparable since we met. We were around six then. Eleven long years, she was more of a sister to me than my best friend. Losing her was like losing a part of my soul. I can't afford to lose her. She promised that she'd never leave my side. Silently hoping that she'd keep her words, I closed my eyes for a split second.

He threw her beside me and I reached out for her hand. In less than a moment, her body was covered in a sheet of blood. This part-time job has struck us into so much of this hazard. Although it's none of our fault we just got here struck. It's only a game of destiny.

" Save us, Lord," I muttered in god's name after a decade.

The front door broke out and some people in blue uniforms and bulletproof jackets and ammunitions appeared.

“Jesus!” I whispered to myself.

Bill used me as his shield this time. He tucked my hair and made me stand although every bit of my vigour exhausted. He aimed his revolver just in the centre of my spinal cord. I contemplated that the night ended upon us but suddenly out of the blue, Christian attacked Bill. He shot a punch directly onto his left jaw and then a kick went off directly to his chin, dislocating Bill's jaw. Christian was also no less than him in combat skills. Bullets went up in the air as the young lad grabbed the gun hidden in the hind portion of his jeans and in next to no time I was out of his reach. I got up and grabbed the gun and pulled the trigger but nothing happened.

The police had Bill in control then. Some people conceded me off to the ambulance, the last thing I saw prior to wholly losing my consciousness was ---- Christian was in handcuffs. His sapphire eyes met mine and everything went out.
