Blaire's POV

Crying always feels good.

It always lifts a burden off the heart and when you cry for a god damn whole night and then fall asleep without even knowing, you feel damn fresh in the morning. The day was pretty simple and monotonous. I woke up, went for the photoshoot for the last damn day, back to home and drowned in some novels. Life seemed good, dark chocolates worked wonders and I was eating a lot of them in those days as they always tended to lift up my mood.

It was already dusk when I left Sophia's room. The orange sheet covered the sky as always and the sun disappeared from the large canvas. We have spent some quality time, to be honest. I smiled to myself analysing my life and trying to pull positivity in my life. Not all love stories are like fairy tales, not all love stories have happy endings. Even fairytales weren't that easy. Cinderella walked on glass and Aurora let a whole lifetime pass, but the thing is they always had a happy ending even if they have faced their fears and tough challenges. But here, we have to deal with a lot more shit. Here no one guarantees a happy ending, here one gets betrayed. If someday I get a chance, I'll create my own fairytale where there will be some really painful heartbreaks.

I walked down the corridor drowned in my thoughts. There weren't many students scattered here and there all through the corridor. As I observed each one of them, I noticed how lonely they all are. Even though they were with their friends, they were alone. Everyone was busy getting their own shit together. And some didn't even have friends. I noticed some girls showing off and even bullying the unpopular ones. No matter how Modern we get, the rich lads will never stop their pomp and show as if there's a clear line of distinction between them and the mediocre students.

I have never experienced what it's like to be one of those unpopular kids who are just being part of the school, the class but never gets noticed. Even as a new student, I got some popular friends and didn't stay unnoticed for long. There's a simple rule for highschool. You've got to be a star in at least something, or you stay unnoticed for four damn years. I sighed and left the campus. I drove back home. My back hit the mattress and my body relaxed. I flipped through the pages of pride and prejudice when a piece of paper fell out of it.

"SORRY," was written on it in big bold letters.

"One chance please?" Was written on the second card.

I shook my head, kept all those aside and left the room. I sneaked out of the house in search of some fresh air. I strolled down the pavement and sat on a swing in the backyard.

"Hey," Aaron lightly punched my arm as he greeted me.

"Hey," I replied back.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, quite surprised.

"Uhh...came to meet you actually. I have something really interesting for you,” he wiggled his eyebrows.

I furrowed my brows and gave him a curious look.

“And what is that may I know?”

“The second basketball match, Blaire. You were there right?” he asked.

“Yeah. Unfortunately,” I said with a tone of disgust.

“Then you must have noticed the absence of James in that game?”

I nodded to his question while giving a thought at it.

“Well, it was quite strange to me as well as to the whole school. I mean why would anybody miss out one of their main players where every match counts? It made me think deeper,” he said.

“So?” I asked.

“So in the third match which you didn't watch, James wasn't named in the line up again and interestingly Christian was banned from playing that game. You might not know but we lost that match. The huge margins of previous wins saved us and got us in the playoffs.”

I looked at him with more curiosity while he continued, “So I decided to dig deeper into this and found out that James was caught taking PEDs and that's why he was banned from the whole tournament,” he concluded and clamped his hands together.

“Seriously?” I asked.

He nodded as an answer.

“And then he threw a party for the win?” I asked him trying to put the puzzling pieces in place.

“Doesn't it sound a little strange?” I asked while he shrugged.

"Matchday tomorrow. Right?"

"Yep, the finals," his voice enthusiastically said.

"What are you doing out here by the way?" He asked.

"Nothing just came to inhale some really fresh air,” I sighed.

“By the way, why was Christian banned in the third match?” I asked out of the blue.

“Not clear, rumours have it that he took a personal day off,” he said.

I arched an eyebrow while he continued, “But as much as I know him, he isn't that type of person. He knows his responsibility and duty as a captain towards the team,” he shrugged.

With a minimized Goodbye, he left. I stood up and walked straight without having any destination. The cityscape was so beautiful when you observe it thoroughly. Dim lights in front of every house, street lights lighting up the way and the neon lights of the late-night Parlours and pubs shining amidst the dark surrounding. As I kept walking, I felt the need for a shrug, it was becoming a little cool and comfortable. With the sea influence, it didn't affect that much. I turned back to have a look, feeling something odd. It wasn't the first time I felt it after I left, my sixth sense continuously poked me and I felt like someone was following me.

Suddenly I noticed a park and stepped into that lonesome park. It was dark except for the lamp posts. I found a bench near the lampshade and lay down on it. I kept gazing at the clear sky of December and the prominent stars shining along with the moon. Childhood memories flashed before my eyes, me playing with my father. Sometimes I recalled how golden my childhood was. Those times with Jamie and kitty. It was golden. Honestly, I haven't imagined in my worst nightmare that Jamie would betray me one day. I kept gazing at them, enjoying being lonely. Loneliness has become an addiction for me, I suppose. Because I have never felt at peace so much that too being alone. I laid there for a while. There was some kind of sweet yet musky smell hovering over my nose. I exhaled loudly and closed my eyes. I lost to the exhaustion as it took over my body and I passed out.
