Blaire's P.O.V

Sunlight poured in through the large glass panels of the bay windows. Fresh scents of the weather sneaked in, lightening up the mood of the room. After two thriving tries, I fluttered my eyes open. A pair of sturdy arms wrapped me in a warm embrace by my waist, his head dug in the crook of my neck. Suddenly it sent chills all through the spine as my skin came into the moist contact of his lips. I shifted a little, to liberate from his arms while he murmured.

"Please don't leave me...you can't do this to me...please noo....," and wrapped me more tightly against himself.

"Christian it's me, please let me go. Then wake up," he broke out from his trance and was wide awake now.

"I'm so sorry...sorry," he apologized, stifling a yawn and creating distance in between, "just a lively nightmare, I guess."

"Everything's fine. Now get up, barely a month is left for the first QET," I chided as I pulled my hair into a bun.

"Angry bird...!!" he taunted back scrunching up his nose.

I returned from the washroom to see an innocent Christian hugging the pillow and rolling on the bed. I couldn't control and laugh out, "Weirdo," I laughed pointing at him, " What are you? 5?"

He shot me a 'what-do-you-mean' glare and leapt out of the bed.

"I mean," I cleared my throat," I didn't know this childish Christian," I managed to say, controlling my hilarity.

"You don't know me still now, nobody does,” he chuckled, “I know you'll be the one, the only one and if you are the one then consider yourself lucky. Get ready to know me, baby," he grinned as he threw his cocky reply.

"Alright. Enough of melodramatic dialogues. I'm going to have breakfast," I declared.

"No, wait," he yelled to me as he rushed to the bathroom and stood ready in five minutes.

We left our room to find the corridor jam-packed with students, maybe some seniors and some sophomores but the utmost of them seem to be from the junior grade as ours. I was flabbergasted and taken aback from my thoughts when he laced his fingers with mine. Walking down the hall, I acknowledged strange looks and glances. With each step forward, I received glares bursting of annoyance and covetousness. I met Sophia on the way to the cafeteria and made her jig by his appearance along with me.

"Hey...," trailing off, she looked over at him, "Hey Blaire...did you two already get along?" she whispered to me, curiously.

I gave her a questioning look, "We are just friends, Sophia."

"Uh, just friends with Mr. handsome hah ?" She giggled.

"Surely not an easy task."

I enquired whether or not Jasmine accommodated there and the answer was surely negative. We sat on a cafeteria table having some coffee. It has not been a month yet and I was literally missing our signature table in the dining hall and the chattering of the girls, on the weekends. The coffee and cheese sandwiches were consumed in silence. Looking around I thought of my school back there and our gatherings. Our usual group, my signature table and last but not the least my patent chair.

I started off with my study session again while he went on messaging on his phone. The screen lit up again and suddenly he started rummaging through the room, grabbed a pamphlet and shut the door behind him. Seconds turned into minutes and gradually hours ticked by summoning darkness in the backdrop. I turned on the music, plugged in the headphones and stared blankly at the windows, with my back to the door. Out of the blue, I felt a warm breath on my hairs, a pair of arms wrapped me tight, his body snuggled close to mine. I flinched, a wobble ran through my spine, giving me goosebumps.

Warm droplets of moisture have almost dripped my shoulder wet. I turned around to face his watery eyes, rosy red nose, and beautiful messy hairs.

"What's wrong, woody?" I asked, concerned.

"no...nothing," he blabbered out, scrunching his nose.

"Why are you crying, man? You look so tough!" I exclaimed, trying to cheer him up.

"No, I'm not crying. I'm tough but I'm human after all..."

" Is it alright if I hug you?" he added.

"Tell me devil- smirk," I pushed further.

I didn't like the fact that he was crying but I couldn't deny that he was looking damn cute. We stared into each other's eyes. I realized that we were indeed too close. I didn't know what was running in my mind but I couldn't leave him like this but yet we needed some space...

"I feel the urge to tell you," he sighed.

"I'm Christian woods," he started off.

"Yeah, I know man," I stated.

"Yeah." He agreed.

"I had a quarrel with..." he trailed off silently.

"I'm forced...I'm forced damn each and every time," he growled.

"I mean how? How can somebody hurt his own family?" he growled out in anger.

Sadness poured out of his eyes. He stood up and murmured something to himself. He stormed out, leaving the door unbolted behind him. I slipped on my sandals and followed him. I couldn't catch up with his fast pace and long strides. At last, he came to a halt in front of the gym. I saw the figure moving inside. I reached the gym and stood in the doorway, watching him punching a boxing bag viciously. I flinched with each of his punches, with the aggression he was blistering. He went on muttering old curses, silently I went inside and settled myself on a seat next to the door. I was sure he's not aware of my presence 'cause he's too much occupied in resentment. But I couldn't leave him alone there.

I thought I would rather wait until he got rid of his anger bubbling inside him but that wasn't going to stop anytime soon. Blood oozed out of his knuckles but he went on again and again for the sake, beating it up. Unable to bear it anymore, I stood up. Stepping up to him, I hugged him. I wrapped my arms around his chest as tightly as I could. I could feel him move, trying to get rid of my hold. But I held onto him tightly. I could feel his hard breath beat against my shoulder and his chest rise and fall with regular intervals. It took minutes until a bit of relaxation soothed down on him and I felt his breathing becoming steady.
