Blaire's POV
"Now shoot," he commanded and I did as directed.
"Well done," was his quick appreciation as soon as the bullet ripped past the board.
"I bet you're one of the best now," he said, draping his arms around me.
"Oh! Come on. I've been practising now for like what? Nine months? Learning from the best duh!" I giggled.
"Christian," I whisper- talked.
"Yes, sunshine," he hummed relaxing back on the bean bag.
I sat down beside him, leaning into him, "What do you want to do?" I asked.
"Make love," his voice was cocky.
"I'm serious, Christian. We're standing on the cliff of junior year. It has ended. Barely a year is left and then we all go off to college," I exaggerated.
"I know, Jimmy."
"But what's so much worrying in that sunshine?" He continued.
"What do you want to do?"
"Where do you want to go?" I continued asking questions.
"Wherever you'll go," was his simple reply.
"Awww," I coo-ed because the reply was cute yet very very unrealistic. This isn't life
"New York is great. What do you think?" He asked
"White sand beaches and NYU," he said as if all these were right in front of our eyes.
"Will this sustain Chris?"
"What?" He asked back.
"Our 'highschool love story'...," I trailed off, quoting the words in the air.
There was a peaceful silence until I decided to break the silence with more of my off-beat thoughts.
"Everyone says, highschool love stories don't work out in the end," I stated.
"Then let's prove it wrong, babe! Let's prove to them that it does work out," he cheered, ''Anyways ours is a childhood love story," he smiled.
I smiled. Absentmindedly drawing circles on his chest where my name was etched.

I bent down, putting all unwanted things in a box because yeah, I finally decided to clean my room. I pulled my hair into a neat bun when my eyes caught on Christian's name tattooed on the nape of my neck. Mom would have gone crazy by now if she knew about it. Well, summer's again here and there's this long holiday of a month and more before we finally start with our senior year.
I can't believe, like seriously? Our last year of high school?
But thinking of summer, it took me back to that treacherous night over and over again.
There's a party at Jasmine's outhouse which is of course owned by his not-so-rich yet rich father and we all obviously went. It's called an end-of-the-session party maybe. I straightened the hem of my velvet-finish bodycon sheath that rode down just to halt inches ahead of my knees and took a final glance at myself in the mirror. The forest green coloured halter-neck dress with little pearl embellishments on it looked pretty much gorgeous. I let my light hairs fall down my shoulders, making contrast and for make-up, my lipsticks were enough.
I knew it was time to go when I heard the honking of my usual ride. I grabbed my purse and ran downstairs. With my stilettos tapping against the floor, "I will be late," I called over my shoulder to dad.
Being promoted to the senior year had also extended the curfew and even more, we went out together. Music blasted our ears as we reached the destination. Crazy and drunk teenagers lying in heaps everywhere already and what was it? Not even halfway through the party.
What will be the end then?Christian held my hand tightly and wrapped his arm around my waist as he led me through the crowd into the insides.
"Sup?" Sophia caught me by surprise.
"Where's Duncan?" Christian asked.
"Here bro," he called out, fingers pulled out in 'swag' custom.
After a while, we finally gathered. Tearing the barbecue chicken, I glanced at everyone around here.
"Like seriously? What do people do at parties?" I asked out loud.
Suddenly, everybody's gaze turned to me and was fixated.
"I mean dance like crazy with random guys and girls?" I raised an eyebrow.
"And making out," James said as he leaned towards Jasmine.
"Teasing boys," Sophia stated.
"And enjoy it!" Jasmine exclaimed.
"And what exactly is the definition of enjoying here?" I asked.
"And well, getting drunk," Duncan added as he handed me a bottle of Malibu.
I stared at it for a while and as I brought it to my lips, Christian grabbed it.
"Not so easily," he stated.
"In life, if you get drunk so easily, then you won't be able to enjoy it. Life is good when you're drunk but better when you're not but you still feel like you are," he continued and left his jaw hanging open when he noticed each one of us staring at him in amazement.
"Come," he grabbed my hand.
"Where exa --,"
"Private time, guys," he declared, cutting Duncan off and literally answering everyone else's question too.
He guided me again out of the crowd and my ears were as if on rest as we came out of the housing lot.
"let's sneak out," Christian stated as he threw his car keys towards me.
"-- and I get to drive," I sat in the driver's seat with his nod and drove straight.
Driving in a night full of stars and with the window down was always fantastical for me.
"Ay, where are you going?" Chris's voice chimed in.
"Oh! We have destinations?" I was taken aback, surprised.
"Of course, sweet Jesus," he rolled his eyes.
"I thought we were going off somewhere even we didn't know."
"Not really," he said, scrunching up his nose, "Head to the practice place," he directed.
"All right. That gala Victorian house. I love that place," my voice excited.
"Yes, baby," he leaned in and whispered against my cheeks, resting his hand on my thigh and continued teasing me until I screeched the car to the halt.
