Blaire's POV

We sat around the table, holding hands. I have called Jasmine, Sophia and Duncan but he couldn't make it and Christian had his head turned the other way upon hearing that mum was there.

The table was beautifully decorated with a heck lot of foods but it was the decoration that etched my heart. Opted with a green and white table display, it was elegant and timeless chic. Plates with nature-inspired greenery brought great colours in and paired well with a vine centrepiece. Lastly, the decorative pumpkins amped up the autumnal feeling.

"I'm thankful that I'm with my family and everyone's smiling," dad said starting the chain.

"I'm thankful that we have plenty of everything in life," mum said and then glanced at me.

I closed my eyes for a moment and exhaled loudly, I said," I'm thankful to have all these great and amazing people in my life, who love me and care for me," I thought of lily for a moment and then put a tight smile on my lips again. I remember last year sitting on a familiar Thanksgiving on a familiar table with her back at home.

"I'm thankful," Jasmine's voice sneaked in," to have everything I have -,"

"- and," Sophia started, eyes on the ceiling," I'm thankful," she paused, averted her eyes to the table," to have the first Thanksgiving of my life," sadness clouded her eyes.

"Soph, it's all right," I consoled her.

"Well, I was three when my parents died in a car accident and since then I have stayed with my Grandma until she passed away two years ago," she said and suddenly shook off every other emotion from her face except the big broad smile.

"Okay then, what are we waiting for?" Dad asked from the other end of the table, breaking the gloom.

                       ▪️▪️▪️

A couple of days passed after Thanksgiving and how's life? Well, fantabulous. My little secret was out to dad that I was indeed dating Christian and he seemed to be quite excited at the fact.

We still sneaked out every night and then came back and cuddled to sleep but you know it wasn't just cuddling every night. I was wearing this huge oversized sweatshirt of his and walked around the room, waiting for him to arrive. I inhaled his intoxicating cologne from his sweatshirt and began missing him more. I turned to the sound of window panes shifting and I knew it was him.

"Let's not go to practice today, " he declared once he was in," you're more than good."

"All right then, let's just skip to the good part?" My eyes lit up.

"No, let's just sit on the rooftop? " He asked, "I mean...we should know more about each other," he shrugged.

"More? On the roof? I thought we were gonna watch the moon," I replied sarcastically.

"Like really?"

" Yeah! " I replied, my voice irritated.

"What's up? Are you on your Japan days?" He cocked an eyebrow.

"What?" I asked not able to understand his words.

" Well, nothing...," he chuckled.

We climbed the roof which may be had torn my limbs in the process and glued our ass there. Christian sat draping an arm over my shoulder and I snuggled in.

"Christian?"

"Hmm.." he hummed.

" Let's play 20 questions,"

"Ugh! No. Not again. I literally hate this game."

"Pweease," I stretched my word and shot him with puppy eyes.

"All right but 10 at most, not 20,"

"So what's your favourite colour?"

"Black," he replied pointing at his sweatshirt.

"When is your birthday?" He asked, recollecting that he doesn't know that.

"Second December,"

"Great," he muttered.

"And yours?"

"Twenty-fifth October," he shrugged.

"What do you wanna do after graduating from high school, sunshine?"

"I wanna study either art or literature. Or maybe do something with fashion and designing or maybe business," I paused, "I wish to go study abroad, maybe in some other land, some other continent. Where nobody will know me and it'll be adventurous and challenging like staying on my own and all those.”

" I'm sure you'll," he encouraged," just take me with you," he smiled goofily.

"What about you?"

"I want to study business and stuff like management of course but I'll never leave sports, trust me. I always thought of NYU and all other options along the east coast," he put his lip," but now if you're gonna go then I'm also leaving." His eyes had some kind of excitement held in.

"Not necessarily you know, you can always study where you'd love to and we'll be there in a long- distance relationship," I said, quoting the word with my fingers.

“I hate the idea of long-distance,” he groaned.

“Okay let's have a bargain. You'll leave with me to my choice of place and we'll study business together,” I snuggled.

“Hm,” he inhaled, digging his nose in my hairs, “that sounds good.”

"Why do you love me?" I asked out of the blue.

He gave me a weird expression. “ I mean I'm not like those hot chics and all and --,”

"You're so simple Blaire and That's different. I don't know I haven't got a reason. But I feel so homely with you like I'm always in my comfort zone. It's always like I belong here, with you, always," He said cutting me off.

"What about you?" He asked back.

"Me? I don't love you. I just have this old habit to make the bad boy fall for me," I teased and rolled my eyes, with a smirk.

"Is it so?" He smiled devilishly.

With that, he smacked a loud kiss on my forehead and I just had a goofy smile on my lips.

"You've got the bad boy to kiss and cuddle babe, and that's your superpower," he teased.

"Whom do you love the most?" He asked and I didn't know that we were still continuing the game.

"Mom and dad," I answered without even thinking for a split second.

"And you?"

"You," he answered.

You're a true example of change.

I knew he was trying to be the best boyfriend but trust me he was already the best to me. He proved that everyone has two sides, the one they really are and the one that they show to the world. To the world, he was the bad boy Christian, whose charisma made girls weak in their knees. But to me, he was the sweetest person with the purest heart I have ever met. He proved that love could do anything and everything, and I was happy that he had let his real self uncover before me. He has shown that attitude depends on who you're dealing with.

You're no less than a renaissance to me.

"Earth to sunshine?" his voice broke my gaze.

I smiled and shook my head.

There was some sort of comfortable silence created between us, but it was soothing. The underlying understanding was. Suddenly, without any notice, my little game came to an end silently.
