Chapter 36

I knocked on Slender's office door. I heard muffling talking and finally heard Slender's yell. "Come in,"

I opened the door and made myself in the office. I noticed the only one there was Slender. So who was he talking to? Meh, it was probably my imagination. "Is everything alright, Elise?" He asked.

"Yes. May I go home now?"

He placed down some papers down on his desk. "Of course. Be careful,"

"I will. Thank you," I remarked before leaving the office. I made my way to Ben's room and opened the door. "Ben, I'm leaving now. Take me home," I said.

"What?" he questioned, not taking his eyes off the TV. "Take me home." I ordered.

"No can do, Freckles," he said, turning the TV off and standing up from the bed.

"What? Why—?"

"Because I'm off to a mission Slender told me to go to. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner," he apologized, planting a kiss on my forehead. I glanced down. "Oh....alright,"

"Bye," he said, "oh, and good luck."

"With what?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

He raised his eyebrows. "Oh, nothing. Just getting back home. Be careful,"

"Right.....well goodbye," I gave him a kiss on his cheek and walked out of his room and made my way out of the mansion. I closed the front door behind me and began strolling into the woods. This is gonna be a little boring without Ben or anybody else so I decided to take out my earbuds and phone. I plugged the earbuds in my phone and when I was about to put one in my ear I heard a noise behind me. I stopped walking. Thinking it was Ben or somebody else, I turned around and saw absolutely nothing. This has to certainly be my own mind playing with me. After what happened last night, it's normal to have such paranoia.

I looked around one last time before taking off once again. Then, I heard it again, that same noise. As if somebody threw something hard to the grass. I ignored the noise. My mind is against me right now. But, just in case, I started to walk faster and faster and that's when I heard that noise again, only that closer to me. I dared to look back and there it was. That thing flying over me. I let out a scream and ducked down. I had my head covered. And that's when I noticed the sudden change of the temperature. It was warm....

Actually it was getting boiling hot. I stood up from the floor rapidly and looked around. Everything was a living hell. There was fire everywhere, trees burning. I even lost sight of the mansion. I glanced around, looking for an exit, but no luck. I heard a loud moan from behind me as I turned around. I saw a beast-like thing running towards me. I didn't think twice and got my sword out. That thing went to jump at me and I slid under it, quickly getting up and stabbing it's back. It growled in pain as I activated the frozen button and froze him to death. I got the sword out. I thought it was over, but I was extremely wrong. I looked around and I swear there were like seven of them. And they don't look so happy...

I have to think of something fast. I can't just attack them one by one. Of course all of them will come at me at the same time. Think fast, Elise, think fast--

Ahah!

I leaped up in the warm air and prepared my sword, making my way down and stabbing the floor near them, freezing all of them. But it wasn't enough. The freezing didn't completely freeze all of them. And there's fire everywhere. It'll melt off in no time. I decided to attack one by stabbing it, as it turned into ashes.

What?

I felt a strong presence behind me. So I looked back and I saw that figure running away. I knew who that figure was.

Ugh. Sonic.exe.

What is he plotting--?

Wait a moment--

Before I could've analyzed what was going on, a strong punch sent me away, ending up on the floor. I began to cough. The strong smell of the ashes and the fire got to me. I'm feeling weak, but I need to fight whatever this is. I grabbed my sword tightly and stood up from the floor. I walked and soon started running towards them. I attacked two of them, finally freezing them to death. But there were four more who were coming after me. I had no choice. This was too much. I am so weak...
