I realized it was too late and I was still in the mansion. Gosh, what excuse will I tell my parents now? Maybe I was caught in some traffic. Or I was doing some project with Riley. I made my way out of the mansion as I began strolling out of the woods. It was extremely dark and I could've barely see. I took out my phone to light out the eerie way. A noise coming from my phone startled me. It was my mother calling me. I decided to pick it up fast. "Hello?""Elise, darling, where are you?"
"O-oh I'm on my way from Riley's. I'll be there soon—"
"No, darling. Stay there. It's too late and dangerous. Just be here tomorrow morning, okay?" She remarked.
"Um. Okay....Goodbye, mom," I said before I hanged up. Guess I'll be staying over there tonight, hm?
I turned around to walk over to the mansion again, until I heard a noise coming from the bushes. My fear got the best of me as I stood there, not knowing what to do. It surely can't be a bunny or any cute animal. Oh, how I wish for it to be a puppy or something adorable. I shook my head and started to walk slightly faster. That's when I felt a presence of someone or something watching me. I could hear its heavy breathing behind my neck. I glanced back. Worst mistake ever. I saw something that didn't seem human at all. Some sort of strange but terrifying creature. It looked like it hadn't eaten for years and it literally looked like a demon. Only that I could've seen it in the dark because of its bright, pale skin. It made a loud screech as I didn't think twice but to run away from that thing.
Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. I'm going to die, aren't I?
I didn't look back. Heck no. I didn't think of looking back. I only thought on how I fast I could've ran. But it was too late. I felt a heavy weight falling on my back. He tackled me. I tried my best to crawl under but it was useless. I didn't stop trying, though I did manage to get out slightly. That thing turned me around and I could see its "face". It's horrendous face. I began to concentrate so I could freeze that thing. But, nothing came out.
What's wrong?
Why aren't my powers working?
Why aren't my powers working—?
He aimed at my shoulder and bit it. I yelped and started punching that thing's head. It bit so hard onto my shoulder I thought he was gonna rip it off. I screamed at the top of my lungs until I felt how he was pushed off me. I saw a tall figure starting to stab it. I can already guess who it was. "Jeff—!" I tried standing up, but I only got to sit up. I gripped onto my shoulder. Gah, that hurt a lot.
I heard that thing screech and attacking Jeff. I felt useless. I wanted to help. I wanted to attack. But I couldn't move that much thanks to my injury. Jeff defended himself with his knife. I took out my sword but it was no use. Slowly, I began to stand up. I tried to keep my balance and began to aim at that monster.
What if my powers don't work anymore....?
I saw how Jeff stabbed that monster's chest. It let out a terrifying growl as I heard Jeff yell, "Get out of here! And don't ever come back you fucker,"
He pulled out the knife out of it's chest as it ran away. Jeff panted and walked towards me. "You okay? You're lucky I was walking around here—"
I pursed my lips and slowly gave him a nod. "What do you have there?" He questioned, pulling up my sleeve. That didn't seem to work so he pulled the collar of my sweater and saw the bite. "Jesus fucking Christ......" he muttered. I glanced at the injury and it looked bad....Really bad. "We need to take you back. Now." He remarked, grabbing my arm and walking off. I followed and hissed at the pain of the injury. "Does it hurt....?"
