I woke up in Ben's room? What the heck am I doing here? I stood up and regretted it right after. My head began to hurt like crazy. I lay down again. I was really bored, so I decided to pick up the controller that was next to me. Surely Ben wouldn't get mad if I play a bit....right?
Well, I don't even know how to turn the console on.
I threw my head back. Ugh, I'm so useless. That's until someone bursted in.
"What-? What're you doing here?" I asked Jeff.
"Here. Some soup and water. Orders from Slender." He remarked, putting down the plate and the glass of juice. "Touchè." I grinned. He let out a chuckle before turning around. I grabbed his arm. "Wait- can't you stick around for a bit? I don't know where Ben is,"
He turned back and sat on the corner of the bed. "Sure. He's out on a mission with Toby,"
"Ah," I replied, grabbing the plate and a spoon.
I've never asked Jeff or anybody in particular but Ben to stay. Guess there's always a first time. And besides, Jeff is like my big brother.
"You do know you are asking a serial killer to sit with you, right?" He laughed. But I could notice he was laughing without humor.
"Yes," I chuckled nervously, "you've become kind to me. We used to fight all the time,"
I finished eating all my soup and picked up the glass of juice, taking a sip from it. "Just remove people that are mean to you," I heard him mumble. I tilted my head to a side. "Huh?"
"You're not that innocent. You know exactly what I'm talking about. You remove people that are mean to you. You don't kill them because you haven't got the strength, and you have a tint of sanity left in you. You're indeed a lucky one." He chuckled softly.
I was extremely confused at this point. What did he mean? Why would he talk to me like this?
"I don't know what you're talking abou-"
He got out a cigarette and put it to his lips, lighting it. "Look, it's not about who's better or worse...it's just a game. Think about it,"
Why would he smoke in a room? Is he stupid? I should get out-
He blew the smoke into the air while looking afar. "Kids are brought up from a young age to sit and stare at a piece of cardboard or electrical circuit and win. Winning is the goal of every game. Life's just a game so why not break the rules and make it a little spicier. I don't win....I enjoy."
Excuse me?
"Did you forget you're talking to me? You're smoking in a room." I stated. He stared at me for a couple of seconds and then looked down at the cigarrette he was holding between his fingers. "Oh, shit--" he cursed, running away from the room. I facepalmed and just stood there. I finally stood up, and I got that headache again, but ignored it this time, making my way downstairs. "Miss Davis--!"
That voice.
That. Voice.
"Yes, Masky?" I said through a sigh.
Let me guess. I can't leave yet.
"Are you feeling well enough to go?" he questioned.
Oh.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks, Masky."
"Oh, well. Goodbye, then,"
I waved at him as I made my way to the front door. Hopefully, nothing will interrupt me from getting home this time.
