In a dark room, Midoriya found himself tied in a chair, bounded by ropes. A single light bulb hanging up above his head serves as his only source of light. He looked around in panic and tried breaking off the chair.
"It's hopeless, Midoriya," a voice said and echoed through the room. The voice sounded so familiar but his mind can't seem to register whose voice it is.
It may be another effect of the emphatic parasites. He grunted and ignored the voice to continue on trying to get out. Then he noticed blood on his clothes. Even his clothes aren't familiar to him.
He's wearing a black hoodie and on his neck hangs a mouth gear. Even though they're all black, red can be seen in the cloth and it sends him negative messages.
Did he killed someone?
Did he hurt someone?
Could he possibly, becoming a villain as Syren said?
Then, footsteps can be heard walking towards his direction and his heart started to palpitate. His breathings started hitching as adrenaline starts to kick in.
"Give up, Midoriya. Give in and become one of us," he saw Syren's lower half illuminating through the light and the upper half hidden in the darkness, but her bright green eyes glimmer through the darkness.
"N-Never," he said and gives her a slight glare. He saw her hand slowly move upwards to her face and slowly, she walks closer into the light.
He saw her bandaged arms, then his red inner hood, and a white face mask on her neck. His eyes widened as he slowly and shakily stare at Syren's face. His eyes widened seeing how familiar she looks like. Yes, she looks the same, but the cheerful emotions that she once convey vanished in the persona of Syren.
"Nekta...senpai?" He said in disbelief. The hair changed into red and the eyes changed into green, but not much changed in her facial features. The same tan skin, cheekbones and other aspects that he really knows Nekta possesses.
He wished that this might only be Nekta's evil twin sister that she had a really bad history with and not the Nekta he knows as his senior who have a crush on his childhood bully.
"Yes, Midoriya. Now it's time for you to..." she said and leaned in then screamed, "WAKE UP!"
--
Midoriya jolted up, beads of sweat trailing down his head and his heart beating fast. Faster than a train maybe. He had another nightmare. It's not as horrifying as his previous one which have gore images of brutally killed bodies, but the fact that Syren having Nekta's face is horrifying enough.
She can't be Syren, can she?
---
Another school week arrived and Midoriya was starting to feel the lack of sleep he is having. He didn't slept for two days because of the constant nightmare he was having.
Syren never came back after she told him about the emphatic parasites, but she was haunting him in nightmares so she may be as well there.
Maybe this was the reason she is called Syren. She is messing with her victims head like a siren messes with sailors' head.
He came to school not feeling like himself. Who would if you started getting torture sessions with a murderous killer who wants to mess with your head and your dreams? Yeah, a natural psycho for sure.
Another class with AllMight is on session and he wasn't really paying attention to what his greatest hero is saying and was just looking away in the back of the class.
'I just realized how lame this suit is,' he thought as he pull a part of his hero costume and look really uninterested in it.
Uraraka worriedly glanced at him from the middle of the class. He's acting really strange today. He's not even talking to her. When she arrived earlier and she greeted him, he didn't responded and just looked and his desk like it's the most interesting to look at at that moment.
Something might be wrong with him. That's all she can think about the situation.
---
Midoriya didn't even waited for Iida and Uraraka when lunch came and walked out the room. The whole class already noticed it and they are getting worried of him.
Bakugo is also skeptical of what is happening to Midoriya. And another thing that's been bothering him was that sudden kiss Syren gave him. He was still annoyed from what happened last weekend and Midoriya acting so differently only adds to it.
As he was walking through the hallways, he bumped into Nekta who looked surprised to see him. He remembered her as the second year girl that Midoriya, Iida and Uraraka started hanging out with last week and the girl who actually dared to sass him.
"Bakugo!" His eyes slightly widened when she said his name and he flashback to the time Syren said his name. His head started hurting, but he didn't let her notice that.
"Tch, you again?" He hissed and Nekta smirked at him.
"Yeah, cause for some reason, we kept on bumping into each other and I like it," she said with obvious sarcasm. Man, he hates this girl's gut, "anyway, where is Midoriya?"
"How should I know?" He snarled and Nekta narrowed her eyes at him and flicked his forehead, annoying the hell out of him, "What the f*cking sh*t what that for, b*tch?!"
"Oh don't you dare raise that tone at me, mister. I'm just a senior who is worried for my junior's well-being so tell me where the goddamn world is Midoriya or god help me, I wi--"
"Nekta-senpai?" She was cut off as the two of them turned to Midoriya who is looking at them with his head tilt and an expression that a clueless child usually makes.
"Midoriya!" She exclaimed in relief and hugged Midoriya then pulled away, "I was so worried when Uraraka and Iida told me you were not being yourself. Are you alright?"
Bakugo stared at the two of them and clicked his tongue. They're so eye piercing to see. Then a sudden image of Syren and the mysterious newcomer came into his mind when he saw the two of them.
His head started hurting again so he decided to walk away from the scene.
Nekta smirked and Midoriya looked at her.
"Senpai~"
"Yes?" She asked, still in character.
"I had a dream that you were Syren," Midoriya said in a hush voice, but he sounded like a person who is out of his mind. Nekta is starting to enjoy this.
"Don't be silly, Midoriya," she said and patted his shoulder and injected another dose of emphatic parasite, "I can't be a villain, can I?"
"Umm...nope! But if you are. Can I be too?" Nekta's eyes widened and rush of ecstasy came into her.
"Will you really?" She asked still acting as a goody-two-shoes.
"Yes please! As long as you're my senpai!" He said in a sudden change of personality. His voice turned dark and almost sinister, just the way Nekta wants it. He's broken! He's really broken.
"But you want to be a hero," she said looking around and Midoriya smirked. A glint of insanity in his eyes.
"I won't be unless you will be," he said and Nekta wanted to laugh out loud. Her main dish is completed. The only problem now is her side dish.
