Robin's POV

Nowaynowaynowaynoway

I am NOT mated to that asshole! "Apparently we are." Alaska giggled. Why haven't you told me about this? "Just thought it wasn't that important." I'm pretty sure that piece of information is very important actually. Alaska responded with a 'whoopsie' before cutting off communications before I had the chance to go full-on Rage Robin.

I sighed as I slammed my house door closed. "Hi sweetie, you're home early. Did you find out who Alpha Derek's new mate is?" mom asked, twinkles in her eyes. I shook my head frantically, hoping that it'll make me forget that horrible night. I knew I shouldn't have come. "I'm kind of tired," I faked yawned, "I'm gonna go head to bed. Night mom" I kissed her temple as she mumbled a 'goodnight' before heading back to her own room.

I slammed head first onto my pillow as my body relaxed. Finally I could forget about that night and just sleep. I was so tired I didn't even care about the shoes still attached to my foot or the fact that I wasn't using my blanket.

I woke up with a raging headache and the annoying sound of my horrid alarm. Curse the person who invented this beastly contraption. I groaned as I struggled to get off and change my shirt for school. Then everything came back to focus, the events of last night and that terrible revelation.

"Oh come on! It's not that horrible to have Sax as a mate!" Easy for him to say, I'm the one stuck with Derek.

I go to the kitchen, kissed my mom good morning and began cooking breakfast. Mom's not very good with her hands after a fire accident that occurred when I was six. She severely got burned while trying to protect me and my big brother. Now it was only us both with my brother choosing to go to college two years ago after he graduated a year early. Having a smartass in the family isn't as bad as it sounds, but it does get lonely sometimes.

Dad disappeared ten years ago, a year before the accident. No one knew why, but some members suspected that the leader of the pact's army was killed by the rogues he was chasing after. Mom still wouldn't believe it, but I did, and I've come to terms with it years ago. "Here you go mom" I placed a plate of french toast and scrambled eggs in front of her and placed a plate of toast with butter in front of me. What can I say? I'm not a breakfast guy. Mom, on the other hand, scuffed down the meal happily. "The twenty straight hours of labour to get you out of my vagina was so worth it" she sighs, eggs dripping off the side of her lips. I chuckled.

I checked the time and picked up my bag after downing my toast. "Bye mom!" I yelled, hearing her saying, "Stay safe!" before slamming the door.

The moment I've been dreading since this morning was finally here. Students that came to the party stared awkwardly at me. Even some kids who had hangovers instantly sobered when I passed by. Honestly, I hate all the newfound attention. I had to stop myself from starting a full on throwing contest and bashing all their hangover out of those small heads of theirs. "Wow, the thoughts of the future luna are scary. I fear for your pack's safety." Alaska whimpered. I chuckled. That's true, I would be a horrible luna. Even more reasons why this scenario isn't working out for me.

"Robin!" Danny yelled as he buzzed straight at me, everyone automatically moving aside almost as if it'd been scripted, "What the hell, dude?"

I sighed, "I think the correct term in this scenario is who's in hell, and the answer would be me." He shook his head,"Did you know this was going to happen?" he said dumbly. Then he realised what he said, "What am I saying? Of course you didn't! How did the pack's omega beat me in rank in just one night?" he sighed, showing his true intention. I chuckled at his slip up. I knew he didn't mean anything bad about it, "Well I'll happily switch roles with you if you want." I said half-serious. He shuddered before shaking his head, "No way. I'm happy with being beta, thank you very much."

Suddenly the hall was quiet as everyone's eyes turned to the new official alpha. Why was he still here? He shouldn't need to go to school now that he's alpha. Now that I think about it, why was Danny here? My thoughts froze as I realised that Derek was heading straight at me, his face for once ripped of it's smug expression. I had to admit, I was pleased. "Oh my god, the prince is going to sweep us off our feet! How romantic." Alaska sighed dreamily. I rolled my eyes. He's not that good to me.

As if my thoughts had been broadcasted off to the heavens, Derek stopped right in front of me, a stern look on his face. He took a deep breath, "I Derek Louis Quinn, rejec-" "Woah woah woah hotshot! Let me stop you right there!" I yelled as I felt my wolf's heart slowly breaking as the words left his mouth,"If anyone should be rejecting anyone, it should be me!"

He stood there, mouth hung open like the idiot he is. "W-wha- what the hell are talking about? I'm your alpha here! I should be the one rejecting you! So shut up and let me finish this!" he groaned, "I really don't have the time for this shit." I rolled my eyes. Alaska, honey, you can do so much better, "Listen, bud. I don't care if your the alpha now. You're still just my stupid overbearing childhood frenemy, and I'm not going to get rejected by that dork, okay?" I sassed. Everyone whispered so loud I didn't even get why they were whispering anymore.

Derek's face turned red from impatience. "Just. Accept. The. Rejection!" My head spun in my head, searching for a reason to avoid the rejection. Despite not wanting it, I knew my wolf was going to die if he was rejected, "Why? So that you can get a free pass at working hard?" That shocked him, "Excuse me?" I smirked, not really sure what I'm saying anymore, "You're just not up to the challenge, right? You've always hated thinking about others. You probably just want to avoid making me fall for you altogether."

His forehead wrinkled as he fumed, something that always happened when he was really pissed, "Fine. If it's a challenge you want, it's a challenge you'll get. Robin Harold Denver, I, Derek Louis Quinn, challenge you to make me fall in love with you before you do!" I facepalmed, this guy is way too simple. "Fine," I smirked, "If you win, you get to reject me, but if I win, you have to be my slave for the rest of your life." "Deal!" he said quickly, probably not listening. We shook hands and he turned sharply on his heels, his entourage that included Danny walking behind him. Seriously, even when he wasn't a student anymore he was still annoying me at school.
