AND I'M BACK BIATCHEDSSSSS!!! THANKS FOR ALL THE ENCOURAGEMENTS AND WELL WISHES FOR MY EXAM! I honestly dk if I'm gonna pass or not but I can't literally care less at this point. Deadass the system really said, "If you fail your finals your 4 months of hard work isn't gonna be taken into account cuz you failed one stupid exam." but ANYWAYS!! Enjoy :3

As I previously said I'll update some bulk chapters which I had the time to write in between the few days I was bored and had no motivation to study. It'll all come out either by today or tomorrow since I still gotta edit some stuff.

I'm gonna have to put some trigger warning in this chapter and the next 2/3 chapters after since it contains mentions of suicide and mental disorders.

Danny's POV

The cub was crying the whole way back to my house. I didn't know what else to do so I just silently carried it in my mouth back as it sniffled and whimpered. It didn't retaliate at me though so I'm hoping I didn't come across as a child kidnapper or anything.

As soon as I arrived in front of my house, I turned back into a human which made the cub flinch. I tilted my head in confusion, but as soon as I reached down to get them they cried again, "W-who are you?"

A realisation struck at me as I immediately turned back to my wolf form, which left the cub bewildered. "I'm the same person. You can do it too, you know?" I told them before turning back into a human.

They hesitated for a moment but tried to close their eyes. Not long after, the cub transformed into a small dirty toddler, with dishevelled long hair as if never treated since birth. So she was a girl.

I smiled at the cub that was still bewildered by her transformation, staring intensely at her new limbs. I took off my shirt and put it on her small body before holding out a hand to her, who was sitting butt naked on the ground in which she curiously placed a paw-shaped hand in. I spread out her fingers, "This is how you do it" I linked our fingers together and pulled her up.

She stood with both legs shaking like a baby just learning to walk; which she really was. After the fourth time failing, she finally got the hang of standing up. It took another hour before she could properly walk with two legs, albeit still shaking and the occasional slip-ups. I was already shocked that she learned how to transform so fast, but that she learned to walked in a matter of hours amazed me even more.

It took me until the age of three to transform, and she looked as if she was barely two.

I pulled her up and carried her the rest of the way inside. It had just turned 3 am when I opened the door in which I was greeted by Argus and Clara who were cuddling on the couch watching late night tv. The moment they saw me their jaws dropped, Argus frozen in place.

Clara's eyes welled up and she approached me, suddenly punching me in the arm. I flinched a little as the little girl tightened her grip on my neck as well. "Ow, w-what the"

"How could you! Oh god, this is every mother's worse nightmare." she sighed. Huh?

"For their child to bring home their kid so suddenly. I knew we shouldn't have let you loose in the woods at night alone!"

I deadpanned.

"...Clara I think you've been watching too much drama these days." I rolled my eyes and they landed on Argus who was also in the brink of tears. "Y-yeah Clara. Th-there's no way such a cutie is related to that idiot."

I regret bringing her here oh my god.

Clara looked up and met eyes with the little cub for a moment and smiled, "You're right she looks nothing like him!"

Wow, thanks so much for that confirmation that I'm ugly. Best family ever.

"Seriously? You never know! MY children might be this cute too."

Argus stood up, completely ignoring my banter, "So where did you come from little one?" he crouched down to her eye level. She looked terrified, nails digging down my bare skin. I winched in pain, trying to shrug off her surprisingly strong grip.

"Wait, you didn't steal her from someone did you?" Clara gasped. "Of course not! Oh my god I'm just now learning just how low you two think of me."

"So where did you find her?"

I bit my lip nervously, "...I found her abandoned in the mountains." I lied, "She was all alone on the edge of a cliff crying and I didn't know what else to do."

Clara smiled at the cub and the cub visibly relaxed. Her body suddenly pulled away from me as she reached to Clara, tears welling up on her face, "Mama!"

The cub jumped into Clara's arms, almost resulting in us butting heads, and cried into her shoulders profusely. "Did you sense her mother nearby? She might've lost her cub."

I was having a hard time lying to them since I never lied to them ever. Argus sensed something was wrong and told Clara to bring the cub outside to calm her down. As soon as they were gone, he turned to look at me seriously. "What's wrong?"

"I lied" I burst out, "I didn't find her abandoned on the cliffs. Her mother was trying to commit double suicide with her. When I ran up to stop them she had run off, leaving that cub clinging on the cliffs."

I looked up to see Argus burying his face in his hands. "Well, this situation has just gotten complicated."

I nodded, "...I didn't want to bring it up in front of her since I had just finished calming her down. But that plan backfired."

"So what do you suggest we do with her?"

I shrugged, "I wasn't really planning ahead really...I just thought maybe she could stay with us for a while until we figure out a plan."

Argus sighed, "Well, I don't really see much of an alternative either. Especially since she's taken to Clara as her mother."

"Did you by any chance see what her mother looked like?" I shook my head, "I only know that she was quite a pretty silver wolf, despite being rather...rogue."

Argus groaned, "So she's the daughter of a rogue to boot. This day just gets better. I'll go check on them, you go freshen up."

I smiled knowingly. He complains a lot like an old man but deep down really is too soft to leave out anyone. I looked through the window at Clara and Argus who were quietly whispering around the sleeping cub, eyes still red from crying. They looked just like newlyweds with their newborn daughter.

I knew it wasn't true, but somewhere inside me I couldn't help but feel jealous of the cub for being able to meet them so young.
