Present day...
'Do you know who Vipin is?' Asked Baah.
'Who is he?' Rahul questioned her back.
'My name is Kokila and Vipin was my dear husband' said Baah that brought tears in those blind eyes.
'Is it?! I am so sorry' said Rahul in a surprising tone.
'It's okay son...it's so long, he left me alone to handle my life' said Baah wiping her wrinkled cheeks.
'May I know how is Mahipal related to Meera' Rahul asked.
'Mahipal is Meera's great grandfather!' Baah finally revealed.
'But how did you know that Meera belonged to that cursed family?' Rahul's questionnaire was unending.
'I knew you would ask me this....let me tell you a little further' said Baah and Rahul again geared up 'Vipin never mentioned to me about what happened with him in South Africa. Few years after my marriage, may be a little more than ten years, when we both were desperate to have a child...you know in those days, if a woman did not get pregnant, then she was not even considered a woman at all'
'Yeah I know about Indian mentality' Rahul replied keenly listening to Baah's words.
'Yes, it was during those days I once was sitting at the corner of a temple premises and was weeping at my fate, since I was constantly taunted by every woman in my village irrespective of whether I knew her or not. They kept criticizing me a lot including my mother.... There, when I was alone and weeping, cursing myself for not being able to conceive, there an old man came and sat next to me saying "why are you so worried my child when you yourself are the solution to your problem" I didn't realize that he was next to me and was talking to me. His words did not make any sense to me..I just wiped my tears and looked at him "I know you have so many questions in your mind to ask me but let me ask you something? Did you ever clean your closet, throw away the old clothes and start afresh?" said the old man puzzling me more and he walked away fast not allowing me find out what he meant by all that' said Baah.
'What did he mean by all that?' Rahul was getting frustrated.
'I too could not understand. I walked back home with loads of sorrow in my throat and a heavy heart. Reaching home, I first thought why don't I clear up the closet as told by that old man...I was just trying for some luck, I guess. I was clearing all those old clothes when I found a small pouch like bag that was old and dirty. Curiously I opened the pouch and found pearls' said Baah.
'What? You mean those pearls which Mahipal stole from Raahil?' Rahul was surprised.
'Yes Rahul. Touching those pearls, I felt a sudden shock in my arm that traveled all over my body at a great speed and I fell unconscious. It was during that time I had this dream of Raahil and how he ended up dead in the hands of Mahipal. But as I opened my eyes sometime later with a heavy head and I recollected that it was all a dream and I was lying on the floor with nobody at home that day. I never knew that I had this ability to perceive the dead but I was clear that they were stolen from a dead man. Rubbishing off my thoughts, I went back to my work and placed those pearls back in the closet and was feeling pretty disturbed'
'So you mean you could see who those pearls belonged to?' Rahul asked.
'Yes that's right. After Vipin came back from work in the evening, I asked him about the pearls and I was shocked when he told me the whole story that matched exactly to my dream. It was then I realized that it was not a dream but a vision. I convinced Vipin to throw away those pearls in the sea. Vipin agreed with me immediately as he too was against using those pearls to earn a living and so he never touched them. You know couple of months later after throwing them away, I conceived'
