Lafayette lifted his head up, still unable to see. A voice came from the left of him.
"Oh, he's awake now." Jefferson. Lafayette turned his head in the direction of Thomas' voice.
A throbbing pain in his head made him wince. "John...are you in here too?" Lafayette strained, his throat dry.
"Yeah, I'm still here." John's voice came from the right side.
"Why are you doing this? To myself, and Alexander?"
"Because I can."
"We are your...friends." Lafayette paused to translate. "Wouldn't do that to friends, would you?"
John scoffed. "Friends? Are you joking?" He walked in front of Lafayette and crouched down. Lifting up the blindfold, his eyes were visible to Lafayette.
They were turning a slight reddish color over the brown. Lafayette sat there, confused, and John began to speak again.
"Who would want to be friends with a monster like me?"
Lafayette noted the slight crack in John's voice when he said the word 'monster'. "John, you are not a monster. You did nothing to get the title."
John stood up again. "See, that's where you're wrong. I have done things you never would've imagined, "friend"." He mocked.
Thomas spoke up. "John is my friend now."
John's head snapped towards Thomas. "Now, who said that?" He growled.
Shock appeared on Thomas' face as John stepped towards him and pushed him hard against the wall. "B-but y-you said.." Thomas stuttered.
"I said I needed help. I never said we were friends. A monster like me doesn't have friends."
Lafayette stared in shock and fear at what his friend had become. He mentally groaned at the sudden thought of getting free and helping Thomas, but tried to get free of the binds anyway. This once only. He thought.
He started to slowly move around to attempt to slip out of the binds, but hurried a bit when John looked like he was close to attacking, if not killing, Thomas. Suddenly, a loud thump emerged from outside, followed by a loud groan and some cursing. Everyone stopped what they were doing to listen to the voice. Lafayette's eyes widened.
