Thomas woke up a quarter past 7, yet laid there for nearly an hour, staring at the ceiling. Madison rolled over and looked at Thomas. "Thomas? Are you okay?"
"I don't know what's happening, Jamie, or what to do now." Thomas said, sighing. "Hamilton still hates me, but that's a given. I thought I was helping John; making him....I don't know...better. I should have known that demon was bad news; for God's sake, I am one."
"You did the best you could, Thomas. You even helped him get better by bringing him to Seabury." Madison sat up. "You said you went over to Laurens' house and he was fine, right? So you don't have to worry, even if Hamilton still doesn't like you, for whatever reason he actually has for hating you. You know I could never hate you, even if you are a demon."
Thomas smiled. "No one but you knows I am, though. And it's not like I can just go out to town square and be like "Hey everybody! I died and now I'm a demon!", ya know? I can't go and demand Equal Rights for Demons." They both chuckled.
"Then don't."
"What?" Thomas sat up and looked at Madison.
"No one needs to know you're a demon; except me, of course." Madison coughed.
Thomas rubbed Madison's back. "I know, Jamie, but I don't know how else to explain to Hamilton what happened and why it happened."
"If worse comes to worse, push comes to shove, and you have no other choice, tell him. It's not like you're Hamilton's biggest fan."
Thomas chuckled. "Yeah, you're right. What would I do without you, Jamie?"
"Crash and burn." Madison said with a smile, and the two laughed.
