Lafayette noted the flash of hope that flickered once more in John's eyes and how they went back to the cold stare. He tilted his head to the side.
John crossed his arms. "I told you before. I don't need to tell you again."
"Mon ami, I am sorry, but Alexander was correct."
"What are you talking about?" John snapped.
"There is something...wrong. About you."
"I think he's just fine." Thomas's voice entered the room. Lafayette turned around to look at the man who walked in. "In fact," Thomas continued, "I think he's finally come to his senses."
Lafayette started to turn around when he saw something speeding towards his face.
Darkness followed.

After a good pep talk and a few jokes about Thomas, Alexander was back on his feet, ready to take on the issue on the table. John.
Mulligan couldn't go with him as he had to go to work, but he saw Alexander off, telling him to be careful, but blunt.
Alexander confidently speed-walked towards John's house, thinking up scenarios of what might happen when he gets there.
In what felt like no time at all, Alexander made it to John's house and looked up at the windows of the house. He had been inside a few times, but always on good terms; nothing like this.
Memories of times with John at his house flooded Alexander's thoughts as he walked up to the door and knocked. No one answered. He stood on his toes to try to see through the glass at the top of the door, but to no avail. He was too short.
He tried the doorknob but it was locked. He walked around John's house, looking for another way in, almost running into Lafayette's car once or twice. He wondered what Lafayette was doing and why no one was answering the door.
He looked up at John's tall wooden fence, debating whether or not he could climb over it successfully.
