Here we go! Chapter two! I am so ready to write the next few chapters (but after that I gotta do some thinking).
____________________________________She heard someone calling her name, but she didn't really recognize the voice. When she opened her eyes, she was in some unfamiliar place. "Hey, (y/n)! You have to come from under the bed now. You can't hide here anymore or he'll find you. I don't want him to find you," a boy said as he looked at her. (Y/n) crawled from under the bed and looked around.
"Who are you? Where am I?" she asked. The boy looked at her with a little confusion.
"I'm Edward. Don't you remember?" the boy said. Then her memories came back. She remembered being outside for some reason but this boy, Edward, had brought her inside.
"Yes, I remember now," she spoke as she and Edward stood up.
"Come on. Follow me," the boy instructed. (Y/n) was about to follow him but then she stopped when she noticed that a mark had appeared on one of Edward's arms. He'd told her that he had no marks, and (y/n) actually remembered not seeing any earlier. She thought back to what had happened and remembered there being a scary person somewhere.
"No, I don't want to leave. I don't want the scary person to come back." (Y/n) changed her mind and stepped back from the door. Edward held his hand out to her.
"He'll find you if you don't leave with me now," Edward said. (Y/n) trusted him, so she took his hand and let Edward lead her out into the hallway. They walked through the large house for a bit before Edward suddenly stopped.
"Are you hungry?" Edward asked without warning.
"I don't know," (y/n) quietly replied.
"How do you not know?" Edward asked her. He seemed a little fustrated by her answer.
"I'm sorry. I just don't know. My mommy told me that it was bad for me not to know things like that," (y/n) said as she hung her head and stared at the floor in shame.
"Hey, don't get sad about it. I can get you something to eat anyway. And then afterwards we can figure out where your home is because mine isn't safe for you. How about that?" Edward said when he saw that he'd made (y/n) feel bad.
She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I don't want to go home anymore. I remember why I'm not there now," she said. (Y/n)'s thought about her mother triggered a memory that she'd much rather forget. The memory of her family's murder. "My mommy is gone isn't she?" (y/n) said as she looked up at Edward. He held an expression of confusion, regret, and worry.
"I...I don't really know," he told her honestly. But (y/n) did know. She didn't have to think about it this time because it was stuck in her mind now. "No, don't cry. Please don't. You'll get us caught," Edward said as tears began to fall from (y/n)'s eyes. Footsteps cold be heard heading towards them. Both of them froze and fear filled their eyes for two different reasons. (Y/n) didn't hesitate to run with Edward when he pulled her in the opposite direction of the footsteps. They ran down the stairs and out the door without hesitation.
"Hurry before he notices," Edward said when (y/n) started to fall behind. They ran behind the house and up to a different smaller house made of glass. Edward stopped in front of the door and opened it. The door made a slight creaking sound as it opened.
There were plants everywhere, especially flowers, and the sight of the pretty petals made (y/n) stop crying. She went over to a white one to get a closer look. "Edward? Is that you," a lady's voice called from somewhere in the house full of gardens.
"Yes mother. It is," Edward replied. "Come on. My mother can help you. She isn't mean like him," Edward whispered to (y/n), but she didn't want to meet any more mothers especially not after remembering her own.
"No. I don't want to. I want to hide," (y/n) whispered back. Then suddenly she started to glow in a magenta light.
"Hey, where'd you go?" Edward asked as he seemed to look past her while looking right at her.
"I'm right here," (y/n) answered. She wasn't sure why Edward suddenly couldn't see her.
"I really can't see you," Edward said.
"I'm right here." (Y/n) poked his arm, and he looked at her strangely.
"How did you do that?" Of course, (y/n) had no idea what he was talking about.
"How'd I do what?" she questioned.
"Nevermind. Just come on." Edward dismissed the question before taking (y/n)'s hand and leading her through the gardens in the glass house until they came to the center. "Mother guess what I did today?" Edward happily spoke as he let (y/n)'s hand go and walked over to the woman standing next to one of the tables that decorated the room.
"What did you do today Edward?" she asked with a laugh.
"I met someone! Her name is (y/n)," Edward replied. His mother turned to him and reached for him. Edward went right to her and gave her a hug.
"Aren't you a little young for girls Edward?" his mother asked with a laugh.
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Edward asked her.
"Oh nothing. You'll get it when you're older," his mother said while ruffling his hair.
Edward's mother seemed nice but (y/n) still didn't trust her. Her mother had been nice too but it had all been fake. "She's right over there!" Edward said as he broke free of his mother's hug and pointed at (y/n). Edward's mother did that thing that Add had done earlier. She looked right past (y/n) as if she couldn't see her. Then she looked back to Edward while smiling.
"I see her. She's a prety little girl isn't she. Hello, (y/n)," Edward's mother said. (Y/n) was too afraid to say anything so she just waved. "It's getting dark now, Edward. You should take (y/n) back inside," Edward's mother instructed. Edward's mood completely shattered when his mother mentioned going back inside the large house.
"I don't want to, mother. I want to stay out here with you so I don't have to go in there with him." He looked at his mother with pleading eyes.
"He's your father. I know he can be strict sometimes, but he isn't that bad. I'll go have a talk with him if that's what you want me to do," she reasoned.
"No. Don't talk to him. Stay out here with your flowers," Edward said.
"Okay then. Does that mean you're going inside now?" Edward nodded in response. "Alright but don't forget about (y/n). She'll get lost if you leave her here," Edward's mother spoke with a smile. Edward nodded again and went back towards the exit.
"Come on, (y/n). Let's go back to my room," Edward said. (Y/n) looked back to his mother who still didn't seem to see her. The woman seemed sad for some reason. (Y/n) looked back to Edward then back at his mother before turning back and following Edward.
