Is it sad that I know exactly where I'm going with this story but no idea where I'm going with my author's notes?

"How am I supposed to learn to do something new if I don't know what that something even is?" (y/n) complained. It had been about a week since Esper's visit, and Add had been trying his best to find whatever it was that he needed to implement the time travel equation onto his dynamos. Whatever it was, (y/n) didn't know nor did she have time to find out. Ever since that unpleasant encounter, she was always trying to figure out ways to increase her psychic ability and keep Add happy. If he wasn't happy, she wasn't either because negativity spread very easily and negativity was bad for (y/n)'s powers.

"I don't know. You have to figure something out," Add said with a shrug.

"That doesn't help, Add," (y/n) deadpanned. They were currently in a grassy feild a bit further than the outskirts of Altera. Why? Because Add was trying to make (y/n) learn something new without having psychic powers himself, so there was no way he could actually teach her to do anything. He reasoned that a different environment would help her focus more, but he didn't exactly know what types of environments she focused in. (Y/n) was an alchemist and alchemist liked certain environments. Being in some random grassy feild wasn't necessarily one of them. It was better than others though, so she didn't complain.

"The sooner you're able to do more with your power, the less you'll have to worry about...about Esper," Add said. His statement was partially a lie. (Y/n) wasn't worried about Esper at all. According to what would have happened in the future, (y/n) would have only died because she was stuck in disbelief that the person standing before her had been Add and wanted her dead. Now that she was past that, she was sure that she could handle the situation better. Add had already taught her a little self defense, and she knew how to do certain things with her psychic power already. It was actually Add who was worried and it probably wasn't completely focused on her. He might have been slightly concerned about himself as well.

"Add, you shouldn't worry so much. I can handle myself," (y/n) reminded as she sat on the grass with her eyes closed to concentrate.

"I'm not worrying," Add growled. She knew he was only putting up an act not to mention that he didn'tfavor being called out.

"Are too," (y/n) said, opening one eye to see his annoyed expression.

"I'm not going to sit here and argue with you," he stated.

"Then don't. You have other things you can do. Just leave me here to concentrate and come back when you've gotten whatever it is that you need. Or you can come back whenever you get tired of walking around Altera," (y/n) said, both eyes now open.

"I can't just leave you here. You'll get attacked." Add stared at the grass with a frown, already thinking of possible worse case scenarios.

        "I thought you weren't worried?" (y/n) teased.

"I'm not," Add growled back. He was obviously flustered, yet he kept up his act pretty well. It was only out of good fun that (y/n) kept bothering him about it. That and she was bored of this training she was supposed to be doing.

"Like I said, you could always just leave me here and resume you search. Unless of course you're-"

        "I'm not worried!" Add interrupted.

"I didn't say it this time which only means one thing," (y/n) said with a smile. "Huh...where are you going?"

"To Altera. Some alone time might help you get your thoughts together. Then you might be able to figure out some kind of new way to keep yourself out of harms way," Add said as he walked away.

"Hey, wait! I was only kidding! You don't actually have to leave," (y/n) said but Add just kept walking. Something else was most definitely on his mind.

"If I don't come back before dark, go ahead and go home. I'll show up eventually," he called before he was too far out of earshot.

"But what if you don't come back," (y/n) muttered, knowing that Add couldn't hear her anymore. She watched him until he disappeared from her sight and then went back to concentrating. Instead, she found that she couldn't and it wasn't all because of Add leaving. Part of it was due to the eerie feeling that something bad was happening, yet she stayed in the same spot anyway. When she opened her eyes again she hadn't made any progress, and the sun was starting to disappear on the horizon of the feild. Add still wasn't back yet which left her with no other option but to do just as he had instructed, to go back to their home.

"Strange. The door isn't locked," (y/n) muttered when she got there and opened the door. "Why wouldn't Add lock the door?" (Y/n) thought just before she touched the door handle. Then realization hit her. Add would have come to her instead of going strait back home. "Umm, psychic powers, if you're willing to cooperate, I could use a glimps into the future," (y/n) thought as she closed her eyes and hope it would work.

(Y/n) saw herself heading towards Altera in search of Add. "What do we have here? (Y/n) all alone with no place to escape to," someone from behind her said. She saw herself turn around to see Esper standing there. Then her vision blacked out and she was back home. "Didn't think that would work, but it wasn't helpful enough," she mumbled aloud. After she closed the door, she pondered what she should do next in order to find Add.

The sound of glass shattering somewhere caught her attention and she instinctively went invisible. If it was Esper, she could probably trap him, but she wouldn't know what to do after that. There was also the possibility that Add was here and could be in danger, but it was unlikely for him to be in any sort of danger. She found herself rushing to the kitchen where she found Add on the ground near the shattered bottles of potions. He had one hand over one of his eyes and the other propping himself up. (Y/n) became visible as soon as she saw him.

"Add! Are you okay?!" she said as she started to go to him. She must have startled him because he moved away from her. "Hey, it's just me. I'm not going to harm you, I promise," (y/n) said as she tried to go to him again.

"Stay away from me," Add hissed. He averted her gaze all the while.

"What? No. I'm trying to help you. What happened?" Add glared at her but that didn't stop her from trying to go near him again.

"I said stay away from me!" Add hissed again. This time, his dynamos came into view and hovered near him in a very threatening way. Something about the dynamos seemed different and it wasn't just their appearance.

"Add...what have you done?" (y/n) asked.
