And here we go, another chapter. Ima shut up so you can read now.
____________________________________As he made his way back home, Add half expected for (y/n) to have forgotten where she was and wander off somewhere. He really hoped that she hadn't since he'd have to explain everything...again. "(Y/n)? You still here?" Add called as he entered.
"Yes but I don't remember what it is that I was supposed to do while you were gone," (y/n) answered from the kitchen.
"Good. She's still here," Add thought with relief. Back when he had gone into the future for the antidote that (y/n) created for herself, he had gotten the coordinates near perfect. (Y/n) hadn't fully turned into Reikon, meaning that only on of her eyes was red, which meant that she kept up her half of their agreement of sorts. Add returned to the past and gave the cure to (y/n) only for her to completely forget him, just as Time had predicted. He had tried to get her to remember him but to no avail. Without her psychic power, she couldn't simply read his mind anymore. Even the marks on her arm that showed her age disappeared. And that had all taken place a mere two weeks ago.
"You were supposed to write down everything that you remember about living here," Add reminded her once he walked into the kitchen.
"But I honestly don't remember much. You told me that I've known you since I was a kid, but I find that hard to believe. When I ask you what happened for me to forget everything, you never answer," (y/n) said.
"I have my reasons for not saying so. Here, I got what you asked for." He held out the book to her.
"Alchemy. What's alchemy?" she asked as she took the book from him. Great...now she forgot what it was she even asked for.
"It was what you used to be good at. You were one of the greatest alchemists I knew," Add said.
"How many alchemist did you know?" (y/n) asked as she traced over the cover of the book with her fingers.
"Uh...just two, but that doesn't necessarily matter," Add answered.
(Y/n) only shrugged and put the book down. "Who am I exactly. I must be someone important for you to be trying this hard to get me to remember everything," she said as she left the kitchen and headed to who knows where.
"Well to the world, you aren't that important at all," Add said as he followed her.
"Then why do you keep trying to help me. You must be getting paid. It must be hard for you to make a video at the end of every day just to remind me of who I am the next day. I honestly don't see why you care so much, especially when I'm not making any progress. It's always a repeat according to those videos that you leave behind."
"I keep trying to help you remember because you are one of the most important things in my world. You're important to me whether you remember or not. I just...wait, this isn't your room," Add said, slightly tilting his head.
"I'm pretty sure it it. It matches the color scheme of my jacket and everything," (y/n) reasoned.
"That's actually my jacket that I let you keep and the jacket I'm wearing matches this color scheme too," Add stated. (Y/n) stared at him for a moment, but then when she kept staring without giving any sort of response, Add knew something was wrong.
"Who are you?" she asked, finally snapping out of her daze.
"Huh? What do you mean? I'm Add, remember," he replied in confusion.
"I don't know anyone by the name of Add. Who exactly are you and where am I?" (y/n) said as she began to display signs of fear. She was slowly beginning to back away from him.
"I...I'm...the person you've lived with a majority of your life but you don't remember me. We were just talking a minute ago, I swear it," Add tried to explain. He was hurt by her display of fear, but he knew that there was nothing he could do about it.
"A minute ago? I can't even remember what I was doing a minute ago," she said on the verge of tears. Her memory loss was getting worse.
"(Y/n), please. You have to trust me," Add spoke, holding his hand out to her. She backed away from him even more when he did that, nearly shattering his heart. But that was just the beginning of her memory loss. It got worse with each passing day until Add couldn't leave from by her side without worrying that she'd forget him or even herself. She could only carry on minute long conversations over and over that usually started off with her introducing herself.
It was on one of these days that Add found himself giving up. (Y/n) would not be remembering him anymore. "Hi, my name is-"
"(Y/n). Your name is (y/n)," Add said as he sat on her bed watching over her as she sat there. He refused to let her leave it unless there was no choice.
"Yes! That must mean that we know each other," she continued.
"Yeah, we do in a way," Add mumbled staring off into space. If he didn't answer, she'd just repeat herself. It was like her mind was a computer program, refusing to move on without input.
"That's good to know.....hello, my name is (y/n)."
"Nice to meet you, my name is Add," Add flatly replied.
"What do you like to do Add?" she asked.
"I don't know anymore. I'm just as lost as you are," Add muttered.
"We're lost? How come?" (y/n) asked him.
"Because you don't...remember anything." Add nearly choked on his words finding it hard to continue on in this way. There was silence again, signifying that (y/n)'s thoughts had reset again.
"Hey, Add why do you look so sad?" Add's full attention was now caught. She had said his name without him having to tell her. "You shouldn't be sad. It's not a positive emotion sometimes," she continued.
"(Y/n)?" Add said, staring into her eyes. They seemed more focused than usual.
"Yes?" she replied. A smile made its was to her face when he looked at her.
"Do you actually remember me?" he asked.
"Of course I do. How could I forget you?" Her smile brightened a bit and Add didn't hesitate to pull her into a hug but then there was silence again. Add feared that silence and what came afterwards. When he let (y/n) go, his suspicions were confirmed.
"Hi, my name is (y/n). What's you're name?" she asked. It was then that Add truly gave up. He didn't respond, allowing (y/n) to repeat herself until she stopped talking altogether. Eventually she spoke again saying, "I'm tired now." It was nighttime anyway, so it was probably time for her to go to sleep. Add got off of the bed and tucked (y/n) in before leaving to go to his own room. He thought he wouldn't be able to sleep but he could since he had cried himself to sleep that night.
