Keeping Him Happy (An Add x Reader Story)

Chapter 8

        Add was pleased with his findings. He found that he could channel Dynamo's power into a form of a weapon. He'd had to go back to Echo's place to get the tools that he needed to make the modifications to Dynamo, but it was no problem. In the process of doing so, he discovered that he had a scar around his neck. He, with the help of bandages from Echo, took care of it and moved on. With this new ability to defend himself, Add proceeded into the waterways in search of anything that could be emitting any kind of EMP signals.

        "Dynamo, are you sensing anything?" he asked as they made their way down the waterway's corridors.

        "Not yet Master Add. I shall continue my search," Dynamo replied. Add didn't care what he was called at this point. The little nasod servant was starting to grow on him, so he kept going.

        "Hey! What do you think you're doing down here!" a voice shouted from a short distance away. Add turned to find three random soldiers that must have been on patrol. The largest of the two was the one that spoke.

        "You better leave or else you're gonna get hurt!" one of the smaller soldiers sneered. Add looked at the trio of soldiers and smirked. He saw them as mere test subjects for his newfound ability. With that new power, he easily took out the largest of the two gurads leaving the other two frightened. They promptly ran in the other direction but Add had no interest in following them.

        "You okay Dynamo?" Add asked. He had used Dynamo's electric impulses that he had channeled to fight off the soldiers.

        "No damage taken here," Dynamo replied.

        "Good, I'll need to work on the voltage and figure out how to control the energy flow a bit better...Dynamo? Hey, where are you going?" Add muttered as he turned towards Dynamo who was floating of in some unknown direction.

        "Source of EMP located," Dynamo informed as he floated away. Add didn't hesitate to follow, but was quite disappointed when Dynamo just stopped at some random wall.

      "Dynamo, I know you realized that electromagnetic waves can't come from a wall, so why are we here," Add spoke to Dynamo with a deadpan.

         "Electromagnetic waves detected here," Dynamo stated.

        Add sighed and said, "It's just a wall." At least he thought it was until he tapped it. The wall suddenly and quickly flew open revealing a secret passage. "What the..." Add looked down the dark passageway. He continued on with caution and used the light that Dynamo gave off to help guide him. The passage led to a hidden research lab.

        "Why is there a research lab here?" Add said outloud to himself. Dynamo headed somewhere else, leaving Add to follow again.

      "Will you stop doing that?!" Add said but then he noticed what Dynamo was trying to get him to see. On one of the walls was his family's symbol. "What's this doing here?" he whispered as he pressed the symbol into the wall. The symbol shifted and revealed a screen.

      "There are two files saved, one damaged, one too much to read," Dynamo said in observation.

        "No! There could have been something important in those files," Add growled.

        "There is a video contained in my storage that was recorded at te same time and place as these other data. Do you want to play it?" Dynamo said.

        "Uh...yeah, play it." It was in this video that he saw his mother. She was trying to change something on a computer. Bypass programing? Wait who was (y/n)? So his mother was the reason that Dynamo called him Add. "If that's what you want, then I'll go by that name mother," Add said to himself.

        "Warning! Insufficient amount of energy remaining. All energy except for amount need for one last travel through time has been used. For safety reasons, it is imperative that we return," Dynamo said once the video was almost done. "What!?" Add said but there was nothing he could do to stop Dynamo.

      "Return successful," Dynamo said once they were back in the library but it was in ruins. Almost all of the bookshelves had collapsed.

        "Dynamo, what happened here?" Add asked after observing the damage done.

        "Spacetime movement depletes energy from the ruins. I have detected that the data has been unable to keep its form due to the lack of energy in the ruins. One last time travel can be performed. Will you attempt it?" Dynamo said.

        "How far back can I go?" Add inquired.

        "Approximately a year from current time," Dynamo answered. That wasn't nearly enough.

        "So all of this data will disappear when the energy runs out. Then the only thing I can do is read it all before it does disappear. Then after that, I'll go back to the past after building a spacetime travel device to save my mother from the nightmare of that day. Hey so about the library..." Add was saying. He heard something fall and then turned around to find Dynamo on the ground and unmoving. "...Dynamo?" Add said. The nasod servant didn't respond.

[A few years later]

        Add had finished everything in the library. It was all read which meant that he could finally leave. He headed to where he'd left Dynamo and took out his chip. "I'll fix you someday. Right now, I think I'll bring you with me to help out in whatever way you can," he said more to Dynamo than he did to himself.

        After putting the chip into his new invention, he got ready to leave the library. He remembered everything that had happened to him while there. It was important that he did so. "Alright, Dynamo. Let's go," Add said. And that was the day he left the library.
