[Excerpts of (Y/n)'s Past 4]

When Add woke up he found that he was somewhere different and noticed that he was resting on something soft. A blanket was draped over him as he lay there in that bed. He felt much better, but he didn't bother to sit up just yet. He spotted (y/n) leaning against a wall within his line of sight. She hadn't noticed that he was awake yet and was using her psychic power to float his necklace around. A melody unknown played from an mysterious source that Add eventually found to be a music box. "You must be bored watching over me like this," Add decided to speak up.

(Y/n), startled by Add's sudden question, dropped the necklace and looked over to him. "Oh, you're awake. And no, I'm not bored. I actually just got back," she spoke.

"Back from where, and where are we?" Add asked. He knew this was not the same place he had been in before. There were no beds there.

"I went to the village alchemist to get you something to help with the fever you had, but you seem to have already fought it off."

Village alchemist...why was there a village alchemist? "(Y/n), where are we?" Add asked again. His tone of unease must had been more evident than he wanted it to be.

"I think it's called Elder, this village. We're in your time period...well the one that you currently live in. I didn't want to invade your thoughts and memories too much so I found an inn instead of finding your house...wherever that is," (y/n) explained. She reached down to pick up his necklace from the floor.

"You time traveled? How?" Add asked as he sat up. His synamos only responded to him, or so he thought.

"I just copied what you did whenever you set your dynamos for time travel and stuff. But of course I tricked them into thinking I was you. It was kinda hard to travel through time with you unconsciously floating behind me. I didn't break anything though, I promise." Add was still surprised that she was even able to use his dynamos.

"How many of my past memories did you actually look at?!" Add wondered when he truly realized what it meant for her to look into his memories.

"Not many. Just the ones that were needed for me to figure out how to time travel using your dynamos," (y/n) replied with a shrug. Add finally got past the fact that (y/n) had time traveled, but then his mind wandered to what had actually happened to get him in the situation that he was currently in.

"Hey, (y/n). You do know what happened before I came to you, right?" Add asked. (Y/n)'s nonchalant attitude quickly changed to a gloomy one.

"Yeah...I know." Her grip on his necklace tightened a bit. "Are you going to be okay after something like that? Doesn't it bother you, having those memories of something that didn't happen?" (y/n) inquired.

"I'll be fine," Add quietly answered. He honestly would be as long as (y/n) remained safe, so that wasn't entirely a lie. He lay back down and stared at (y/n) for a bit. "Where did you get that music box from?" She looked at the trinket and smiled a little.

"It's the last thing I have to remember my real mother. I had to go back and get it before leaving the time period with you. Back when we lived in that experimental village, she would let it play for me whenever I was sad or hurt or scared." (Y/n) went over to the music box and closed it before leaving the room. Add didn't question where she was going although he did wonder. It wasn't long before she came back with a shirt in hand that she tossed it to him. "Put that on before you decide to go anywhere. Thought you might want to have a shirt on," (y/n) muttered. Add sat up and picked up the white t-shirt.

"Please tell me you didn't look into my memories to figure out what shirt size I wear," he nearly prayed. He didn't know what exactly she would need to see in order to find that out, and part of him really didn't want to think about it.

"Nope. I just guessed," (y/n) assured. She then tossed him his necklace which he caught with a small smile. "Your jacket is somewhere around here. I'll go find it," she said, leaving Add alone again. He felt along his side wondering how (y/n) had healed so many gunshot wounds without healing powers. He knew that her psychic ability knew hardly any bounds, but healing was a bit much...wasn't it? Then he wondered how long he had been alseep and made a mental note to ask (y/n) when she came back with his jacket.

When she returned, his dynamos were floating behind her and she also had his eyepatch that had been missing. "I still don't understand how you're able to use those," Add commented as she brought him his things. He put them on and then, one by one, his dynamos came to him. "What?" he asked when he noticed (y/n) staring at him. She tilted her head before walking forward and pulling the hood of his jacket over his head. The laughed that followed was absolute bliss to his ears.

"I was just wondering what you would look like with the cat hood on," she said. Add didn't say anything, only pulling the hood over his face a bit as he stared anywhere but at (y/n).

Once everything was in order, they checked out of the inn and headed down the streets of Elder. "Where are we headed?" (y/n) then asked.

"Back home. You need a place to stay so you'll live with me," Add said as he took her hand, intertwining it with his own. (Y/n) looked at him for a moment before leaning over and kissing his cheek.

"Okay," she said with a smile. Their story of happiness began there but soon ended not much longer after it started.

[Excerpt End]

"Okay? So that's what happened, but you didn't explain how (y/n) eventually died or what the disease is that she has," Esper said.

"I was getting to that. Shut up and let me finish," Time growled.

"We're almost home anyway. The train is about to stop so we can continue this explanation later," Add commented.

"But I want to know what happens," (y/n) whinned. "That cliffhanger just sucks."

"This isn't a fictional fantasy story. These are actual past events and you should treat them as such," Esper muttered.

"Esper, shut up," Add said in slight annoyance.

"Why is everyone snapping at me?! I'm only speaking the truth," Esper said.

"Just shut up," Time repeated with a deadpan.

"He really didn't do anything," (y/n) muttered in Esper's defense.

"Hey who's side are you on?!" Time asked.

"All three of you are the same person! Why does it matter?!"

"I'm not him," Add and Time both snapped while pointing at Esper. An argument soon broke out between the three Adds and it was starting to get on (y/n)'s nerves. Luckily, the train stopped, so she got up and left. The Adds stopped their argument and followed after her, but she didn't wait on any of them. She just wanted to get back home so that Time could finish his explanation because cliffhangers suck.
