Broken || A Riordan Universe Story

Jason POV~ "Bet."

     I had absolutely no memory of what happened during the last few days of my life after drinking that water. Luckily the others filled me in. I hate to admit it, but this has been the worst situation I've woken up to, (and that's saying something).

     "Well, looks like they're reforming now." Sighed Alex, looking at the mounds of dust.

     "Remember the plan guys." Stated Annabeth. "We need them alive."

     She looked pointedly at Alex.

     "I can't make any promises." Alex shrugged.

     "ALIVE." Annabeth glared, as Alex winced.

     "Fine." She grumbled.

     The moving dust started to solidify into two forms of life. The first was a fox with beet red fur, and the second was a dog with dotted pearl white fur.

     "Here we go again." Magnus sighed.

     Before this, Annabeth and Carter (with the help of Leo) managed to set up one big trap based on the idea of Hephaestus's net. With the help of Leo's tool belt, and Carter's ability to reach into the Daut, we had all the materials we needed in order to build it. It didn't take long since everyone helped out.

     "Come to Mama." Leo grinned as his hands lit up with fire.

     Both of them charged at us. Seeing the fire in Leo's hands they ran in his direction. Lucky for us the trap was set up in front of him. We calculated for the fact that they moved in sync. The two of them stepped into the net in front of Leo, as it worked its magic. 

     Soon all their limbs were tangled in the gold mess, and there was no way for them to get out.

     "So how are we supposed to do this?" Asked Percy.

     "Well, I doubt that we could just yank a tooth out of their mouths." Said Carter.

     "Bet." Replied Leo.

     He walked over to the net.

     "Hey, Foxy." Leo said as he pulled out a pair of pliers from his tool belt. "Pipes, help me out here."

     Realizing what Leo was trying to do, she cooed, "this won't hurt a bit." I could hear the strong tone of charmspeak in her voice as I began to feel tired. "So just fall asleep, and dream about killing each other, peacefully."

     They were both on their knees, close to the Fox. The Fox slowly shut its eyelids, as the Dog followed pursuit. The Fox's mouth was open wide as Leo carefully put the jaws of the piler on its Canine tooth. He started to yank and pull, but the tooth didn't budge.

     "Let me help you out there Bro." I laughed.

     I walked over and yanked the pliers with all of my strength. Then the tooth fell out in front of me.

     "See? I knew we could do it." Leo grinned in victory as he held up the bloody tooth.

     "Now on to step two." Annabeth stated.

     "I got this." Nico walked over to Leo.

     Leo gave Nico the tooth.

     "Wake up." Piper charmspeaked at the two beasts, as I suddenly felt full of energy.

     Their eyelids shot open to reveal their blood red eyes as they started to try and struggle again. The howling and barks rang out.

     "Now." Annabeth said.

     Nico struck the tooth with his sword, as a piercing sound erupted from it. I put my hands over my ears but managed to keep my eyes open. I saw the eye color of the wolves flicker to an indigo blue color.

     "IT'S WORKING!" I shouted.

     "KEEP GOING!" Zia added.

     Nico hit the tooth again, this time it was a harder blow. The sound increasingly got louder, as it resonated on. It got so loud that the tooth shattered into tens of shards. The sound stopped as I looked at the beasts. Their eyes were fully indigo blue now, but their bodies were frozen in shock (I get it).

     "Let's go." Stated Percy.

     "We can't leave them there." Said Calypso in a small voice. "We have to free them, and anyway they won't be focused on us anymore."

     Annabeth stared at Calypso for a long, hard minute.

     "You're right." She finally said.

     Annabeth walked over and cut one of the threads, "they can get out now."

     "Nice job team." Said Leo. "We're amazing at this. I'm sure we'll get off of this island soon."

     "Are you sure about that." Cackled a familiar voice.

     I looked up to see an Archimedes Sphere broadcasting the Legion of Doom.

     "Hello everyone, and we're back, live at the Games." Sneered Loki.
