I was so confused.
It all started with Carter Kane's little "Eureka!" moment. He was telling Percy to move the water of the Nile River. Of the Nile River! How was that supposed to help us at all? I don't get it.
"Okay then, Carter." Percy sighed, confused. "I'll move the water for you, but I have absolutely no idea what you're looking for."
Carter was pacing. He looked like he was lost in his own thoughts. Percy slowly started to move his arms to one side. He was humming with power that radiated off of him in tidal waves. Then, the water started to shift; creating a pathway. Percy's powers amazed me every time.
But that wasn't the crazy part.
The crazy part was the boxed structure sitting at the end of the path. It was almost golden, sitting in the sun. The dirty blue water of the Nile River was reflecting on the structure.
"Déjà vu." Sighed Walt.
"Well?" Said Leo. "Let's go!"
Leo started to march down the pathway. The rest of us followed him. I still had my suspicions about this, but I kept going anyway. Sand was getting stuck in my beaten up gray Sneakers. When we arrived at the structure there were words in-scripted on the walls. I recognized the Latin, but it looked like there was Ancient Norse, Greek, and Hieroglyphics too. It was written all over the three visible walls. Over and over and over again.
"The Journey to the Island Near." I read.
"What in the Hades is that supposed to mean!" Questioned Leo; frustration clearly showing on his face.
"There's only one way to find out." Stated Percy.
Walt put his hand up to the cemented doorway, and closed his eyes. He looked very focused. As if, nothing could break his concentration.
"Ha-di!" He exclaimed, as the door crumbled to the ground.
"Cool!" Smiled Magnus.
Walt stepped through the doorway. I followed him inside. The room was quite spacious, even though it looked so small from the outside. All of us could fit it. There were no windows. The only source of light was the doorway. Sitting in the middle of the room was an opened Sarcophagus. The lid was no where to be found. I inched towards the box. Inside was a head.
"Oh my gods." I said, as I looked away.
"That's Mímir alright." He inspected the head.
"What do we do now?" Asked Percy.
"Give him some water." Stated Blitzen.
Percy levitated a globe of water out of the Nile. Then, he deposited it into the Sarcophagus. It filled up the whole space.
Mímir's eyes shot open.
"I was expecting you." He grinned devilishly.
"Okay then." Said Magnus. "It's nice to see you to Mr. Bubbles-"
"Don't called me that."
"You see, we're on a quest to find you. And here you are. When we give you to the Legion of Doom, we get our friends back, and we get to leave this terrible place."
Mímir started to cackle an evil laugh. Magnus looked like he wanted to strangle the guy, but seeing as he didn't have the rest of his body that would be a little difficult.
"You think you're going to get out of here?" He boomed.
Right at that moment a cement block appeared in the doorway. Now we couldn't see anything.
"I'm going to be paid handsomely." Mímir continued.
There, underneath our feet was a big glowing swirling blue circle. There was no ground anymore. My feet went through it. Everything went black. The last thing I heard was the cackling of Mímir, as I was free falling through nothingness.
