I saw him.
I saw Luke.
And this time he was alive.
I swear to gods he was standing right in front of me.
I couldn't sleep, so I just laid down on the sand, thinking. And that's when I heard his voice.
"Annabeth! I'm alive!" He said.
I sat up to see his smiling face standing in front of me.
"No you're not, you're-you're another hallucination."
Right?
"You're dead."
"Yeah, after you left me to die." He growled. It's all your fault you know.
"No, no, no I couldn't do anything." I said, tears started to form in my eyes.
"Really? If you actually stuck to your promise about family you would've saved me. And maybe," he said angrily. "I would've survived. But I didn't need your help. And all your talk about 'family' is what I call total BS!"
"I'm sorry." I whispered
"You're what?" Luke gestured.
"Sorry." I said
"Well, sorry won't cut it for a dead man." He growled.
By this time I was full out sobbing, as I realized that Luke's death was all my fault.
All. My. Fault.
That's when Percy came over. I had to come clean with him. By that time Luke was gone.
"The thing is," I sniffled. I hated this. Showing my weakness in front of people. "I saw Luke, and he was alive."
"Are you sure?" He asked with concern.
"Yes, positive."
Was I though?
"Wait, maybe not." I said, "I-I don't know."
"It's alright, try to get some sleep." He started. "I'm right here if you need anything."
My heart swelled up with love for him. As I put my head in his lap. His hand played with my hair as I drifted off into a nightmare-less sleep. The best one I've had in a long time.
"Awwww." Said a voice, "they're so cute!"
"Shhh! Don't wake them."
I awoke to see all the girls standing above us. The sun was shining in my face. I looked around to see that, somehow, Percy and I ended up in each other's arms. His raven black hair looked like it was dusted with gold in the sunlight. His eyes were shut, and there was a little bit of drool coming out of his mouth. I started to sit up. Then Percy pulled me back down. I laughed.
"Percy, honey it's time to wake up." I cooed.
"Five more minutes?" He groaned.
"We don't have time remember? We have to save the world again." I said.
"Fine. I'm up." He groaned.
He sat up, and stretched. Just then, an Archimedes Sphere stopped by, and I was guessing that it was video-taping us. That part of the Games sounded really creepy, well, actually the whole thing sounded creepy.
"I have terrible morning breath." Percy rubbed his eyes, looking at the sphere. "Can I have a tooth brush kit?"
The Sphere's lasers fashioned a tooth brush and a bottle of Colgate: Kids Bubble Gum flavored toothpaste, and it dropped it in-front of Percy.
"It knows my favorite brand!" He grinned, "can I get a million dollars with that?"
The sphere didn't respond.
"Darn it." He looked at our faces. "Stop judging me!"
"Weirdo." I rolled my eyes.
"Nerd."
"Looser."
"Geek."
"Seaweed Brain."
"Wise Girl."
"Kelp Head."
"Okay, we should get some food and come up with a plan." Said Reyna.
"Smart." Said Percy.
After Percy brushed his teeth, Calypso had toast and eggs ready for us (don't ask me how she did that, because, quite frankly, I have no idea).
"So, any ideas?" Asked Nico.
"Nope." Said Percy, shoveling food into his mouth.
The Archimedes Sphere was still hovering a good five feet away from us.
"Wait a second." I looked at the rest of them.
I motioned for them to get closer.
"You know how the Legion said that the sphere would be going around and filming everything that happened?"
They nodded in confusion.
"Well, what if we followed it once it moved again?"
"Then it would lead us to the others." Replied Reyna with a whisper.
"You're a genius Annabeth." Smiled Zia.
"That's what she's known for." Smiled Percy.
I blushed.
"So all we do now, is wait." Sighed Sam.
