Too much has happened in the pass few days. I was living a peaceful life (or as close to peaceful an Egyptian Magician could get). After defeating Apophis I lived in the Brooklyn House with my sister, Zia, Walt, Felix and new recruited magicians. I had a new family. One that I loved.
And now, it was Broken.
Gone.
Shattered.
I'm trying my best to pick up the pieces. But never in my life, my whole entire life, have I felt so helpless.
Riding on a Dragon was probably the coolest thing I've done all week. I wonder what Sadie would've thought of this. Oh, Sadie. My sister, was gone. I'd give anything to hear her annoying accent right now. She is my rock. And now, I have no one to lean on. We've been through so much together, me and her. I still can't believe that she's not here, with me, on this quest.
Zia and I have grown closer over the years. Sure we've had our occasional fights, and differences, but we never let that come between us, (and I know that sounds really cliche), but it's the truth. I loved her. No, correction, love her. She's still alive. I'd know if she's dead. Right?
I shook myself out of my never-ending thought spirals. I looked around, slowly gaining my surroundings. I was on the back of The Happy Dragon with our assorted odd group. The wind was flying through my hair, waking me up.
"T-Minus 10 minutes Amigos!" Exclaimed Leo.
So far we didn't face too many monsters. There were a few pesky Venti but other then that we went along undisturbed. Which filled me with suspicion. Did the 'Legion of Doom' want us to succeed? It was a little too perfect of a journey. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved it; the peace. But, since when does anything actually work out smoothly for Magicians?
Then I saw it. The Place of Red Sands. It had been destroyed by Zia's father's accident. The ruins were everywhere. The First Nome had decided to set up more places for Magicians to live and learn in Egypt. They had a plan to rebuild Al-Hamrah Makhan into a great city for Magicians. The plan hadn't taken action yet, but once it did, Zia and I wanted to (maybe) start a life here. Together. The thought made my heart ache for her.
Festus landed near the Nile River that was flowing a little further away from the ruins. It was shaded with thick Papyrus plants; it was sad that these plants were almost extinct in Egypt. This little spot was a great place to land, just in case of the locals. Blitzen had said earlier that Mímir was usually located near water, since he needed it in order to "animate." I still didn't quite understand what he meant by that, but I just went with it.
Festus's bronze feet hit the sandy ground with a thud. The guys started to file off of his back, down the ladder.
"You did good buddy." Leo was talking in hushed tones to Festus.
I climbed down the rope ladder, gaining my surroundings as I jumped down. I stretched my back out, getting my blood circulation back. I looked around. A serious feeling of Déjà vu hit me like a wave. This place looked familiar to the place Walt and I traveled to, when we were looking for the real Zia. Those were dark times.
"Where should we start?" Asked Jason.
"Great question." Nodded Leo, stretching his arms above his head.
"Carter." Walt started looking at me, as if I was going to break down any second. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Of course." I sighed, thinking.
My train of thought was zooming at a mile a minute. It all started back on my Quest to find Zia. She was entombed here, at this exact location, underwater.
Underwater.
Entombed.
Mímir.
The pieces to the puzzle were clicking together in my head, as a light bulb went off.
"Percy!" I exclaimed, in thought. "You need to use your powers in order for us to find Mímir!"
"What do you mean?" He asked, clearly confused.
"Push the water to the sides right here," I pointed to the exact spot it happened years ago. "It will form a path to the place where Mímir is entombed."
"How do you know?" He questioned.
"Trust me."
