I sat on the table rubbing at my wrists, trying to ease the pain as we waited for the results to come back. Luckily everyone decided to pull me away from the table and withhold any procedures until the blood work came back, and usually that could take more than a 48 hours.

But Floyd was very prohibited on finding out if I was actually pregnant that he pushed my tests to be the only concern right now, which meant I had less than two hours to find a way to get out of this.

God only knows what he'll do, especially when he finds out I'm not actually pregnant and this was just a light fluke in the urine test. Most of them aren't a hundred percent accurate, I knew my own body like the back of my hand. There was no way that it could even be possible...

Can it?

I pushed back the thought process as Doctor Johnson walked back inside with a brand new cart full of things, most likely to give me a bunch of unnecessary tests while we waited. She looked at me briefly, cleared her throat before closing the door shut and rolling the cart over to my side.

"Although your blood pressure was extremely high earlier, I'm pretty sure that it was due to stress. So, the medicine should be working at the moment and helping keep you at bay while we wait." She explained, typing a bunch of things about me and my health into the computer's data log.

She had expected me to answer, but there was nothing that I could really say in this moment. It was beneficial for me to remain quiet as possible, just because she felt sympathetic doesn't mean that she still wasn't apart of them.

At any given moment Floyd could decide to say fuck waiting and have someone else come in here, and electrocute me just for wasting his time. It was never promised that he wouldn't do it anyways. Which is why I needed a plan and fast...

"Thought you might've been hungry." She gestured to the tray of food that she bought from the cafeteria for the staff, pushing over the plate and apple juice. "It's an egg-salad sandwich with an apple on the side for nutrients you may need, I did the best I could." A small smile came upon her lips as she offered it to me.

Keeping my gaze ahead, I held out my arm so she could properly take my blood pressure. She sighed before grabbing the band and wrapping it around my arm, checking it before pulling it off me.

"90 over 60 " She announced to me, writing it down on my papers and typing it into the system before looking over. "You should really eat, gotta take care of yourself if I had known your blood pressure was already so low I wouldn't have given you that medication."

I kept quiet as she tried talking to me again, just grabbing the food off the plate and eating it slowly.

"Okay look.." She pulled off her glasses, rubbing at her eyes before walking in front of me to capture my attention. "I know that you may hate me because of what almost just happened, and that's not something that should be taken lightly. If I was in your place I would be just as quiet and remorseful. But I'm not the enemy here and as soon as the test showed that it was positive I-"
