The both of us just watched each other for a minute that felt like a life time, she was expecting me to say something. Anything that had to do with seeing her stand there in front of me, after all that has happened, she had expected a happy man that was excited to see his pregnant fiancée.

But I just feel remorse mixed with a little confusion, and anger Harry was stupid enough to leave her alone and expect her to stay put without attempting to see me.

I had knew better to know that she wouldn't, the little firecracker in her wouldn't just sit around to wait for any news. She wanted me and damn, if she didn't make a way to show up. As much as I felt like I should be mad, nothing ran through me other than a significant amount of paint that ached my heart. Because this wasn't going to be the visit she hoped for, I had to break her heart for us to survive again.

As much as I had wanted to save and defend my relationship with Ryder, but I don't think I could ever forgive myself if Fatima and all of them were hurt because of me. Brooks had a sickening advantage over us right now, and the only thing I could instruct Andrew to do for me is make sure all of them had been safe. Ryder as well, just for certain because I don't trust him.

She slowly moved forward after what seemed like forever, shoving both hands into a very oversized jacket that didn't fit her body type at all. But I could see my clothes hanging from her figure, hiding away what is mean to be our joy. A sigh merged from me as I looked away.

"I'm sorry that I'm late." Ryder spoke softly as if she was afraid to speak, not really knowing what to do with me not responding to her.

My eyes followed her as she walked across the room closer to me, I analyzed every single part of her until they landed on her shoes. Anyone could see it wasn't directly meant for her, and it belonged to someone else. I had known her.

When I looked back up at her, she looked kind of confused on why I wasn't speaking. But it quickly left her mind, as she pushed it behind and probably assumed that being here was the issue with my mood.

She thought about something and perked up, her lips twitching at the end. "Andrew told me that you got another lawyer, someone who could possibly get you out of here faster." Her eyes filled with ambition.

That part made her perk up, but it just meant I would have to settle in court and usually that didn't even mean anything. But they couldn't allow a guilty man out without a hearing, and it was going to be a long journey until people decide what they wanted to do and it had to go with people testifying against me. I was screwed at this point, Linda Brown got what she wanted all along, for me to rot away.

"It's a good thing right?" She asked in a toddler voice all while looking me directly in the eyes, trying not to glance at the cuffs wrapped over my wrists. "Maybe it'll give us some good news, I hope it'll be around my next ultrasound appointment. You'll have to miss the new one next weekend, but we can make up for that next month."
