Multiple {Pregnancy Series #2} ~ You Find Out The Gender

Jace

You were going for your first scan ever, a scan you had been putting off for a while because Jace had demanded to be there for the first one and since he was so swamped with work lately...

The doctor invited you in straight away and, before long, the ice cold gel was applied and the little monitor was picking up picture of your baby...

"Can you see that there?" the doctor questions, pointing at a blob on the screen, "That's the head."

You smiled warmly when you felt Jace squeeze your hand and when you look over to him, you see his eyes glued to the screen, tears flooding over the rims of his eyes.

"Oh, hold on..." the doctor hums, moving the scanner further along your stomach. The camera zooms wider, moving around to the back of the womb

"What? What is it? What's wrong? Is the baby okay?" Jace panics, gripping your hand tighter

"Sir, calm down" the doctor assures him, "Your baby girls are just fine."

"Girls?" you gasp, "Girls, plural?"

"I'm gonna have a baby girl?" Jace breathes, before re correcting, "Two baby girls?"

"Yes, twins" the doctor smiles, "I'm sorry, I thought you may have known..."

"This...this is our first scan" you breathe, shocked.

Twins.

The doctor frown at your mentioning this being your first scan but let's it go.

"Babe!" Jace shrieks, jumping up and down on the spot, "I'm gonna have two daughters, we're gonna have two daughters!"

"God help their boyfriends" you chuckle, watching Jace's face darken.

Magnus

Yourself and Magnus hadn't gone to an ultrasound for the reveal of your gender.

In fact, Magnus kind of ruined the surprise for you.

"I wonder if you're a little boy or little girl" you had been pondering your baby's gender, cooing at your slightly swelling stomach

"Oh, did I forget to tell you?" Magnus groans, smacking his head, scolding himself, "It's a boy. We're gonna have a son."

"Magnus!"

"What?!"

"Way to ruin a big moment!"

"Oh, Y/N, I've know for weeks."

"Weeks?! How?!"

"Warlock, Princess, Warlock."

Simon

You'd gone for the typical 20 week gender reveal scan but had requested not to know the gender upfront. Instead, Simon took the envelope with the gender to a cake store and had gotten them to fill the cake inside with either blue or pink icing.

You thought it was cheesy, he thought it was cute.

"Ok, here goes!" Simon squeals, both of your hands pressed upon the cake knife, your immediate friends and family circling you, anxious to find out the gender

As soon as the cake splits open, pink icing spills out and Simon, along with the rest of the room, sans Alec, screams in delight.

"I'm gonna be a father!" Simon screams and you laugh

"Cutie, you were a father before" you remind me, laughing amusedly

"Ok, well, I'm gonna be a father to a daughter!" Simon giggles, a huge beaming smile of his face, "Hey, why aren't you super excited?"

"She peeked at the note" Alec pipes up, chuckling, "My littlest sister is a great person but secrets and surprises? Not her thing...surely you should know that by now, vampire."

"You peeked?!" Simon gapes, sounding offended

"Sorry" you shrug, "But I told you it was cheesy."

Raphael

Raphael had been attached at the hip to you ever since you'd found out you were pregnant. The fact he'd learnt he could actually have children was elating to him, but it made him even more protective.

He was terrified the slightest knock could kill your baby, as if his vampire genes made it extra fragile and despite how many times you told him you'd felt the baby kick or move, he still worried.

He never let you go to any kind of doctor, so knowing the gender was a limit Raphael could not be convinced to cross.

So, one day, desperate to know the gender of the child, you'd called Raphael's trusted friend Magnus, a warlock, to come by and sense the gender, so at least you could know.

Raphael had agreed...barely.

Magnus came in, sensed the gender and was out in 10 minutes, the gender written in a tiny envelope.

"Open it, then!" you urge Raphael and he open it quickly, his eyes widening, "Well, what are we having?"

"A hija" Raphael whispers, "We're having a hija!"

"Urg, Raph, I don't understand Spanish!" you protest, snatching the card from his hand.

Daughter.

You were having a daughter.

Alec

Since Alec's birthday had happened to fall upon your 20 week scan, you had decided to surprise Alec with the gender of your child. So, after finding out the gender for yourself at your 20 week scan, you bought a pair of bright blue converse and a blue cup that said '#1 Dad.'

When Alec came home from work, you rushed upstairs to grab the presents, hiding them behind your back.

"Hey, Handsome, I have a couple presents for you" you sing 

"I don't need presents, Y/N" Alec sighs, turning to you from the couch, "You've already given me the two greatest presents in the universe."

"And those would be?"

"You and our child"

"You're so corny" you scoff, coming over to the couch and sitting beside him. He pulls your legs from the floor, slinging them over his lap the way he always did these days, "But, speaking of the baby, the presents have to do with it so I think you can accept it."

"Okay, I'll allow it" Alec jokes, playfully rolling his eyes

First, you present the #1 Dad mug, wondering if he'd pick up on the colour.

"It's amazing, Gorgeous, I love it" he smiles, kissing your cheek.

Guess not.

Next, you hand him the baby converse, waiting for him to react.

"Little too small for me, don't you think, Beautiful?" Alec jokes again and you smack him

"They're for our baby, silly" you chuckle, "Look at the colour."

"They're blue" Alec shrugs and then it dawns on him, "They're blue...Oh my Angel, they're blue! Does this mean...?"

"We're having a boy!" you announce, beaming brightly

"I'm gonna have a son!" Alec cheers, pulling you from the couch and into his arms, squeezing you tightly, "I'm gonna have a son!"

"Yeah, you are" you smile, "And he is gonna be the luckiest boy ever, to have you as a father. I wish I'd had you as a father when I was younger..."

"Gorgeous...that's really creepy" Alec jokes, once again, "Considering I'm your husband"

"Ugh, shut up!" You whine, "I meant a father like you. Leave me alone, I have pregnancy brain!"

"I love you" he chuckles kissing your forehead tenderly

"I love you, too"
