Chapter 19

Sargent's POV

"Sargent,what's happening? How did she became Rowana Vidallon? The family of Vidallon are dead,right? Enlighten me." maraming tanong ni Mommy sa akin.

I groaned. How am I going to explain all of this? "Mom,it was a long story. I don't know how to explain all of it—"

"Summarize it."

I sighed. "Okay. After we met at Lolo's birthday,I looked for her and asked her things until we got to know each other. When she was broke,she found me in the bar where she is too and she took me to my house. She slept there—"

My mother's eyes bulged. "In your bedroom?!"

"Of course not. She slept at the guest room. Xiron and my friends met her the night she took me home. And after an argument between her and her parents ahm... something happened—"

"Something happened?!"

I flinched when her voice raised. "Yeah. And then,we got more closer to each other. Then I started to tell her things about her and us that was in the past. Now,here we are."

"Hindi pa kayo?!"

I shook my head.

"How about,when did she became a De Leon? Or..." my mother groaned. I can tell that she's getting confused too. "Who is she? Really?"

I seriously faced her. "Mother,this is a serious thing. She isn't the De Leon's only daughter,she's actually adopted. And they took her without the Vidallon's permission. They took her from the accident but... that's just what I think. But the adoption was true." I explained but my mother's face was still confused.

Mother massaged her temples. I want to make everything clear to her but it looks like she's just getting more confused. But it's hard to explain. I'm still unsure of some things behind Rowana De Leon.

My mother sighed. "Okay,Sargent. I'll let you be with her but... take care of yourself. Take care your brother too. Legal ba yung pagkakaalam mo sa adoption niya?"

I hesitated because I know mom will scold me.

"Answer me,Sargent Montereal-Francisco." My mom glared at me.

I sighed in defeat. "Yes,mom."

"Oh,God." Nasapo niya ang noo niya. Well,I can't lie to my own mother. When my mother finally looked at me,her eyes were worrying. "Sargent,what are you doing,honey?" I apologetically looked at her. "Hindi mo na ako madadala sa ganyan. I told you to never let yourself get in trouble—"

"No one knows,mom—"

"How can you say?!" I silenced. "What will happened to you if the police find out that you're doing this things illegally—"

"I have Caspian and Tito Em—that is a lawyer."

She sighed. "I know. Pero anak,hindi mo man lang ba naisip ang reputasyon ng pamilya natin? Kapag nalaman 'to ng daddy mo—"

"Please,don't tell dad—"

"Don't tell me what?!"

I gulped when I heard father's baritone voice echoed inside our mansion. We looked up at the staircase and saw him there. Mukhang kanina pa siya sa opisina niya at ngayon lang lumabas.

"Dad,hi. How are—"

"Answer me,Sargent Montereal-Francisco." Dad urged me.

I can't lie to my father too. Now that he got me. I sighed again. "It's about..." I tightly closed my eyes. "Illegal things."
