Elsa’s mind seemed to haze lightly as she looked around the dark room she suddenly found herself in. The last thing she remembered was returning to her room after the piano lesson with Hans, but it seemed although every other memory had faded. She looked around nervously, she knew this place. She sat up and looked around at the walls that were coated in sharp shards of darkened ice. The small bed she sat on was now coated in a sheet of snow. The room was mostly white but had blue patterns occasionally decorating the walls. How was this possible? She was in the bedroom she had when she was younger. But that’s impossible; it was redecorated when she became queen. She slowly got out of the bed she had appeared in and walked towards the door. She grabbed the handle and twisted it. Locked. She shook it violently. “Anna?” She shouted and pressed her ear against the door desperate to hear her sisters voice, maybe an answer to why she was here or any of her questions. But only the echo of her own voice replied. “Hans?” she called a little more desperately this time, her fist banging on the wooden door as hard as she could, but she was strangely weak. Maybe because of the vast amount of ice she had created in her sleep, her powers always seemed to drain her completely. She listened closely as the sound of footsteps echoed from outside. She sunk to the floor from sheer exhaustion but shuffled herself back as she heard the locks to the door click, her back leant against the bed, holding her up. Finally the door slowly opened, the ice around the edges shattering as it was forced open. A familiar face appeared as the person entered the room. She clambered to her feet and wrapped her arms around him, yet he didn’t hug back. “Hans, what’s going on? I love you so much” She murmured as she clung to him and buried her head into his chest.

“Oh Elsa” he chuckled, his voice was cold and unloving. Elsa pulled away and looked up at him, his usually perfect glowing emerald eyes were dark and cold, a sly smile was plastered onto his face. “How could anyone love you? Now everyone knows of your powers and the danger you truly are, you couldn’t be more hated”

Elsa slowly backed away from him “W-What do you mean? Only you, your father and Anna know. A-And I thought you loved me?” She stuttered as tears filled her ice blue eyes.

Hans’ evil laughter filled the room “I thought you were so intelligent. It looks like I was incorrect. Of course I didn’t love you, I loved the power that came along with you. Then when you fell in love with me I just gained some intimate bonus extra’s. Oh and as for everyone else knowing about your powers, you set off an eternal winter. The people of Arendelle are suffering because of you. And Anna couldn’t hate you more. And now Elsa, its time to put an end to your reign.” He said as his hand took a hold of the handle of his sword, unsheathing it and holding it up in the air as he took a number of steps towards the vulnerable queen.

“Hans no! Please! I’m sorry!”

His laughter echoed around the iced room as the sword swing towards her.

“No!” She screamed as she suddenly woke up in a cold sweat in Hans arms.

“Hey! Hey! Elsa you're okay, it was a nightmare, I've got you” He cooed, holding her close as her head nuzzled into the crook of his neck and his hand ran gently up and down her back to relax her.

She pulled away briefly to look around the room and check her location. She was back in Her’s and Hans’ room, it was iced over but she couldn’t be happier by the sight. Her cheeks were tear stained and she was shaking breathlessly with fear, her heart felt although it was pounding out of her chest.

“I've never had a nightmare before. I-It felt so real. I've never been so scared” He voice cracked from her sobs.

“You're okay now sweetheart. I love you so much”

Elsa swallowed at his final five words. Her nightmare had only made her fear her love for him more, yet she couldn’t stop loving him, no matter how much she now wished she didn’t.

“I don’t remember falling asleep… I mean I only just got up..I..I don’t understand”

“It was probably the stress my father caused and your powers, but when we got up here you seemed a little out of character and the next minute you were back on the bed asleep…”

Elsa sighed and looked at the window, trying to get an idea of how long she had been asleep. “What time is it?” she asked quietly. Hans ran his thumb across her dampened cheeks. “Early evening, you were out of it for a good few hours, Anna came to see you, but I made up the excuse that you were exhausted from all of your paper work…”

“Where is she now?”

“With her Prince charming, they seem to be rather close already, it’s rather sweet, He isn’t a royal though, but as long as he makes her happy I guess. I mean he seems innocent enough.”

Elsa shook her head “She’s too young to be married. There is no need for her to find a man to attach herself to who will only mess with her mind” She said bluntly.

“What do you mean she too young? She is at the perfect age to marry, you just married rather late yourself… And is that what you think about me? That I am simply here to mess with your mind?” he asked, his voice had a hurt tone to it. She didn’t want to lie to him, because yes, in a way that is what she now thought of him, his fathers words seemed to have taken a much bigger effect on her than she expected he would. All she wanted was to live happily with her husband and forget her past, and be able to move on from the negativity that had dragged her down her entire life. It all seemed so unneeded and unfair.

Hans noticed her hesitation and pulled her back into a hug “I have no idea of how to prove to you how much I love you. I hate the fact that I married you while we disliked one another, it lost all meaning, and I have no idea of what shows someone you love them more than the day you marry. Yet not even that is a fond memory. I'm sorry Elsa, you deserve so much better. I wish I could make you as happy as you deserve to be”

Elsa sighed and hugged him tightly “No, its not your fault, I love you, I'm just new to this whole ‘love’ thing, and so much is going on all at once. And I guess I'm just confused and filled with emotions I have never experienced before.”

Hans leant down and kissed her softly, holding her gently.

Elsa kissed him back after a few seconds of hesitation, then once they finally pulled away she nuzzled her head back into his chest and whispered “I love you too”
