“Is there really no way of getting out of this? No escape… Its like a second curse…”

Hans looked at her with great confusion as he picked up on one word in particular. “Second?”

She suddenly realized how much she had said. “Well… Uh…” She hesitated while she panicked to think of an excuse. “Well I’d say being born into a family that means you have no choice in being queen is a curse in its own way… Don’t you think?” She said, hoping her question would throw him off of the topic of conversation, which it did.

“I wouldn’t say so… Your parents were great people. I don’t understand why you would push them away like you did”

Elsa breathed quickly out of her nose and got up, he had no idea what her parents we’re really like, how they treated her similarly to a prisoner. “You know, you were doing really well up until then, I was actually finding you bearable.” She said angrily as she marched down the corridor back towards her bedroom but he quickly grabbed her wrist. She tried to free herself from his grip but he was too strong as he tugged her lightly making her fall back and look at him.

“What? You seem to know my whole life and what my parents were like so surely you have no other questions” She spat.

“No no! Elsa I'm sorry! I don’t tend to think before I speak, and I had met your parents when I was young… When Princess Anna was born and I was just so jealous, they seemed so loving and caring. Everything my parents aren’t. So I'm sorry.”

Guilt hit Elsa like a knife, stopping her in her tracks as she stopped pulling away from him and just looked into his eyes to only see hurt. She assumed that every royal was treated like they deserved to, never had to work as hard as they should have for the amount of money they owned and spoilt rotten, she thought it was just her who had been treated unfairly… but she was wrong? “Come with me” She said softly as she twisted her wrist around so that she took a soft but firm grip on his hand, pulling him towards the white door with the Dark and light blue pattern that covered it. She pushed it open and signaled for him to sit on the bed as she lit a few candles so it was light enough for them to see. She walked over to the bed and sat on it opposite him, crossing her legs like a child with her chin sat in her hands and her head tilted curiously. “What do you mean? Your parents didn’t treat you like your brothers?”

Hans shivered slightly, the room was cold like a winters morning but he didn’t want to complain and yet she was in a ball gown and hardly seemed phased by it. Elsa noticed how cold he seemed and pulled the duvet she was sitting on top of and gave it to him, he smiled at her, just that small act of kindness was a large step forward for the two of them to start getting along as required if they had to live together. He continued to tell her of all of the stories about his parents and the way they treated him, the way he was just the unwanted prince, it was although they would have been happier with him not around.

Elsa easily made a connection with his stories; the both of them felt unneeded and unwanted through their whole childhoods.

She mentally clicked herself back into the stubborn Elsa she usually was. This could all be lies to get her sympathy and make her feel weak, yet he seemed so genuine. She tried to calm the conflict going on in her head before she froze something.

A single snowflake fell in front of her eyes, floating slowly down in clear view to both Elsa and Hans.

“Its summer… Why is it cold enough in your room for it to snow?!” he asked as his curiosity got the better of him.

She had no explanation, she knew it was a bad idea to let him into her room, but it was a spare of the moment decision. What was she thinking?

She shrugged her shoulders in denial of having any idea of what he meant.

“You must be able to feel it. You can’t have stayed in here with it being this cold for so long. You would have been seriously ill!”

Elsa swallowed but tried to remain calm and collected. “Is the temperature of my room that important when we are getting married tomorrow?”

“Well if I have to sleep in here when it’s this cold then yes!” he laughed, not understanding how much each comment he made panicked her.

“Stay in the guest room then, there's one next door”

He shook his head “No, no, its fine, I wouldn’t want to cause any problems.”

She rolled her eyes “Yeah… You’ve caused enough of them just by turning up. I still can’t believe tomor-“

A foreign feeling interrupted her as his lips were pressed against hers. Her lips kissed back but mentally she wanted to pull away, so why couldn’t she?! What hold did this man have over her? Their lips moved in sync until finally he pulled away to catch his breath.

Elsa looked at him stunned “What are you doing?! What were you thin-“

“It just means it won’t be as awkward when I'm told I can kiss the bride.”

Don’t forget to leave a comment etc! I’ll love you forever -m x
