“Hans wake up, we've got a meeting” Elsa whispered as she felt his arms holding her body against his. “Hans! Move!” She said, raising her voice to finally wake her sleeping husband. His only reaction was a low pitch groan and his arms tensed pulling her in closer, making it more difficult to escape. He let out a small laugh as he felt her squirm against his grip. “It’s not funny! Today is a big day. So you need to make yourself look good, and we also need to be on time”
Hans yawned and let his lip trail up her neck “I know, I know, but I look good all the time, so you don’t need to worry about that” He joked, his lips still pressed firmly against her skin, making her push him away. “And looking good involves no marks of affection!”
Hans groaned again and let her free, watching as she climbed gracefully out of the bed. After a few minutes of stretching and complaining he finally pulled himself out of bed, sorting out his mane of hair, “Work isn’t my idea of fun, Elsa. But laying in bed with you on the other hand…” he said with a large smirk. Elsa rolled her eyes and pulled out a simple navy blue formal dress, she sighed quietly and began to change out of her nightwear and into the dress she had chosen. She wasn’t in the mood for his flirtatious behavior, today was the day in which Elsa would explain that she was going to cut all agreements and connections with The Southern Isles, this decision could either make or break Arendelle, and it was all down to Elsa, all her life she had wanted some control over her life, but now she had power over not just her own, but all of Arendelle's. She shook herself out of her daze and began to brush through her hair and pin it up in a formal yet casual style. By the time she next dragged herself away from her thoughts, Hans was completely ready, his hair perfect with a crown placed on the top of his head ever so slightly to one side, his eyes an awake and vibrant green and a lovely suit she hadn’t seen before. Handsome. She forced herself to look away from the most attractive example of a man she had ever seen to look at herself. She didn’t look anywhere near as happy as him; her eyes were a dark and dull blue, her skin no longer as bright as it was when she was young and carefree. The stress of her work was now taking a physical effect on her, draining her in looks as well as mentally. Hans walked over to her dressing table and picked up her crown, placing it gently into her hair, making sure it was straight and secure. He left a gentle kiss on her nose. She smiled up at him, trying to hide the fear that her eyes showed so clearly. She continued to get ready until she reached the final touch of her favourite red lipstick. Hans kissed her cheek gently and smiled comfortingly “Ready?”
Elsa got onto the tips of her toes, reaching up to straighten his crown, then finally, she gave him the nod to signal for them both to leave the freezing cold bedroom. He linked his arms with hers and linked their fingers together. They walked down the corridor in silence until they were stood in front of a set of large white doors with golden handles. “Queen Elsa and King Hans of Arendelle” was announced loud enough to be heard through the wooden doors, and just a few seconds later, the doors crept open to reveal a rather wide table, on one side sat a row of council members, looking at the king and queen with snobbish grins. Elsa hardly recognized them really, she had only spoken or seen a few of them at her coronation, other than that, to her they were merely strangers who wanted the power she had, they weren’t really her idea of ‘guidance’ or ‘help’. They all rose from their seats as the royals of Arendelle approached their seats.
”Gentlemen” Elsa said, letting her eyes scan across the men that sat before her, this was hardly set out like a meeting, more of an interrogation. She nod her head and let a forced smile appear on her face, signaling for everyone to take their seats again.
An elder man who sat directly opposite Elsa coughed to catch her attention, a clearly fake smile on his face, which couldn’t hide his stuck-up sneer “There have been suppositions that you are ending the Proclamation of-“
