“Are you ready yet?! Its been forever!” Hans groaned as he admired himself in the mirror making sure each and every hair was in place. “The more you complain the longer I’ll take!” Elsa called back from the bathroom, wanting her look for the night to be a surprise to Hans. “It only takes me a few minutes to look perfect, it takes you hours” Hans joked, smirking to himself.

“It’s a shame we can’t all be as perfect as you Mr Westerguard, but it will be worth the wait I promise!” Elsa replied and just by the tone of her voice Hans could picture her rolling her eyes at his humor. He took one final look at himself from each and every angle before flopping back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling to hopefully make the time speed up.

Elsa looked at herself in the full length mirror, judging her hair, her make up, shoes, dress, posture, everything. She sighed quietly, she had decided to change her look, a more youthful yet sophisticated look, not really royal though, but maybe this is what she needed, one night to forget all of her regal duties. Finally she walked over towards the door and twisted the handle, letting it swing free. She took a few steps out closer to the bed and added a relaxed smile to her outfit “Ready?”

Hans grinned and began to sit up “Finall..Woah” He gasped as he stared at the new Elsa that stood in front of him in a long tight fitting black dress which had a cut that ran up her left leg to her mid-thigh that was hardly viable except in certain positions, The dress was coated in a thin layer of frost that made it shimmer in the light. His eyes finally made their way up her body to her face, her eye shadow dark, dramatic and smoky, Her lips a deep red and finally her hair down and curly all pulled over her right shoulder with her crown sat firmly in place on the top of her head. “I'm hoping that is a positive reaction, but either way we have an event to attend, correct?” Elsa said, trying to have a confident attitude to match her confident choice of outfit. Hans continued to stare at her wide eyed with his jaw dropped.

“I wasn’t too keen on the party idea, but it has to be a lot better than you gawking at me like that” Elsa giggled, taking a step closer, placing her index finger under his chin, pushing up to close it. Hans smiled and stood up standing to her right side letting his arm wrap around her so it sat on her waist.

“You look rather handsome yourself if I must say”

“And you look incredible… amazing… absolutely breathtaking! There wont be a single man attending the party who wont be jealous of my perfect wife”

Elsa blushed and looked down to try and cover the pinkness of her usually pale cheeks “You need to spend less time charming me and more time taking me to this stupid event”

Hans smirked and left a gentle kiss on her cheek before guiding her slowly over towards the door, twisting the handle and pulling it open, the sound of music flowed through the corridors followed by the sound of lengthy, mind-numbing conversations about politics and other things of the regal topic. “I don’t know what you were thinking when you thought this would be a good idea Hans” Elsa muttered as they edged closer and closer to where the noise was coming from. Finally the royal couple stepped through the open door and almost immediately people bowed before them. The two of them smiled at their guests who stood there before making their way over to their thrones that over looked the occasion. They both picked up a glass of champagne and took their seats sipping intermittently.

“It’s weird don’t you think?” Hans asked staring at out into the dance floor. “What?” Elsa responded without the slightest clue of what he was talking about. “We met here, and you couldn’t have hated me anymore than you did on that day.” Hans chuckled, linking his fingers with hers. Elsa laughed slightly, moving her gaze to his face “Well you were no prince charming, more of a cocky idiot… it doesn’t seem like anything has changed, does it?” Elsa teased with a small smirk. Hans looked back at her wide-eyed letting a fake gasp escape his mouth “Me?! Cocky?! Never!” he laughed, slowly leaning in towards Elsa, which she soon noticed and began to edge closer to him.

“Elsa!” A cheerful voice called over the music making Elsa lean back into her seat ending the moment between them. “Elsa!” The voice called again, it was recognizable but now she just had to work out who it was and where it was coming from. She slowly rose from her seat, her eyes scanned through the crowds of people before her until her eyes met with recognizable green ones. “I haven’t seen you in so long! You look amazing!” The short haired brunette stood in front of her spoke. Elsa’s eyes looked her up and down, she wore a gorgeous lilac gown and her make up was natural, she was a natural beauty, she really didn’t need anything added. “I’m so glad to have you here in Arendelle! I didn’t know you were coming tonight; the whole event has been a complete surprise! So how has life been treating you?” Elsa asked with a large smile on her face.

“Amazingly actually! Oh, that reminds me!” She said excitedly before grabbing the hand of a young gentleman behind her, pulling him forward and by her side to face Elsa. “Elsa, meet my husband Eugene, Eugene this is Elsa, but I'm sure you already know that!” She giggled.

“Queen Elsa!” The man announced, bowing his head in respect to the queen, “Of course, Rapunzel has told me so much about you, you look wonderful this evening your majesty” He said with a charming smile, his arm wrapping subtly around Rapunzel’s waist. “Thank you, it’s far from my regular choice but I seem to be getting good responses so far! Also, before I forget, you can just call me Elsa, no need for formalities! Oh and of course you must meet Hans!” Elsa’s smile growing as his name left her mouth. She turned around to look at him, gesturing for him to join the conversation between the three of them, he quickly got up and strolled over to her side, his arm wrapping around Elsa protectively. “Hans, I’d like you to meet my cousin Rapunzel and her husband Eugene, they travelled all the way from Corona!”

“Corona! A wonderful place I’ve heard, the kingdom will be in good hands with you two” Hans said cheerfully. Rapunzel’s smile slowly grew as he spoke “Well of course you're always welcome there, you can stay in the castle with us, we have plenty of room and we would love to have you both with us! And of course Anna is always welcomed also!”

Elsa’s breath caught in her throat at that name, she swallowed thickly but tried not to act fazed by it. “Yes, yes! Of course we would love too… A-Anna as well… Could you excuse me a moment while I get some fresh air..” Before either of them got the chance to reply Elsa had already left the group, dashing towards the door as quickly as she could without seeming suspicious. As she reached the out doors she took a deep breath of the sharp cold air and sighed, resting her hands on the edge of the fountain. She turned to face it, looking down at her reflection; A single tear rolling down her cheek, dropping into the water turning the whole fountain to ice. Everything was suddenly silent except the distance sounds of the party life and quiet footsteps “Not now Hans, I just need a minute to compose myself. I’ll be back in there in a minute” Elsa sighed, closing her eyes to try and stop the tears.

“I like the new look Elsa” A female voice spoke. “You look different… It’s a good different! Except the tears of course…”
