She was 15 when they first met. His jet black hair and mesmerizing blue eyes never failed to make her heart beat erratically. The way her name would come out from his sinful lips and the way he would stare at her was melting.
She knew the moment his ocean eyes met her earthly ones, it would never be the same.
Gone was the girl who never bothered about petty things called love. Gone was the girl who doesn't believe in it.
She was gone because he existed.
She knew she was falling but all she could do was watch him from a distance, knowing she doesn't have a chance at such a perfect guy like him.
She just watched.
She was 18 when her heart beated fast inside her chest that she was afraid it would go out from her mouth. A sudden euphoria filled her entire being and she felt nostalgic at the scene.
His view was the most breathtaking view she ever saw in her entire life. His lips which curved upward and his eyes, so blue, staring right and penetrating deep her soul.
Who wouldn't be like that? When the guy you loved for three years asked you out for a date? When the guy you loved ask you to be his girlfriend?
And so, on one sunny afternoon, they went out for a walk in the park. Ice creams in both their hands, melting at the hot breeze of summer. Laughs accompanied by the soft mellow voice of the man playing the guitar from over the corner filled the area.
They talked about the truth untold about themselves. They talked about the future and what lies ahead, the plans that they would take. They talked about the stars and how it shines even at the darkest of times. They talked about the moon and sun who constantly chased eachother uptil now.
They talked. They talked about everything. Everything that matters.
A single ring from her cellphone was enough to break the momentum gained between them.
"Hello? Where are you? Mom said we still have to go to the church!" Boomed from the speakers was her sister's soft voice, clearly irritated but still so lovely like the sound of water droplets from the rain when you are sleeping.
They said their goodbyes and he understood her reason. She felt bad because she wanted to stay with him a little bit longer.
She wanted to stay.
He also wanted to stay.
They went into different directions but she looked back.
He didn't
She watched.
He didn't
She watched his back walking away from her.
He didn't.
She just watched.
She was 20 when the guy she loved for 5 years asked her hand for marriage. In front of their parents, in front of their friends, in front of everyone who ever witnessed the blossoming flower of their love.
She cried.
She said yes. He hugged her tightly and she observed the people who clapped and applaused for them. Some were even crying, specifically it was her bestfriends.
But it wasn't them who caught her attention.
But to that one girl who stared back at her eyes with happiness masking her face. She applaused, yes. She smiled, yes.
She watched.
But she knew her too well.
She was 25 when she watched the guy she loved for 10 years cried and expressed his love in front of the altar.
He was still so handsome, so spectacular, so breathtaking, even after years had passed by adorning his face.
She watched him.
He watched her.
She who cried.
He who smiled.
She was happy.
He was, too.
She knew it was the best decision she had ever made in her 25 years of existing here on this lifetime.
He knew he loved her that's why.
She watched.
She watched as he kissed her with full of love and sincerity and she couldn't help but smile.
She watched.
She watched as they exchanged their vows in front of God. A vow of everlasting love flowing until death do they part.
She watched.
Even though she could feel her own heart breaking at the sight in front of her.
She watched.
She watched as the guy she loved for 10 years marries someone else.
She watched.
She watched as the guy she loved for 10 years smiled so happily. His pearly white teeth visibly showing and his eyes-
His beautiful ocean blue eyes were glossy from the tears threatening to fall from it.
She watched.
She watched as they get married. Both had smiles on her face like it could last forever.
She watched.
She watched as the guy she loved for 10 years married her beloved sister.
She watched.
Because she always just watched.
Always.
