Today I will write
about the things
that I received
and about the things
that I've lost.

My first present was life.

Even if life itself is chaos,
I will be always thankful
for having it
despite feeling so lost
and sometimes,
it's almost too hard
to even breathe.

My second present was family.

My family is not your typical one.
Why?
Simply because it doesn't exist.
But because of some people,
I learned to believe that it does.

My third present was friends.

Even though sometimes
I couldn't feel them,
I'm just grateful because
they didn't give up
on someone like me.

My fourth present was the only thing that I've lost.

I found love,
And also lost it.

I found you,
But I didn't lose you.
Instead,
You were the one who lost me.

I found love
because of you,
But also lost love
because of you.

But because of that I found my last present,

Me.

Despite the darkness
in my surroundings,
Despite all the bad
things that happened
to me,
Despite all the worst
scenarios that could
happen,

I learned that
I only have myself,

I only have me.
