She's A Trouble Maker

Chapter Eleven:

-Harley West-

Rumours are weapons made to destroy your life. Truth is, I've never had a problem with rumours being spread about me...until now. All day I've been getting "Are you screwing him?" Or "Oh my god, is it true that you are pregnant with his baby?".

This was extreme and all I did was arrive to school with him but I did that a couple months ago when he first moved, so why is it such a big deal now?

I join Molly in our usual spot in the schools cafeteria and she instantly rests her chin on her hands as she raises an eyebrow.

"So, what are these rumours about, huh?" Damn it, Molly. Now I have to tell her the reason I came to school with Ryder. Well...I can tell her that he offered me a ride because we're neighbours but Dustin might tell her the real reason.

"Ryder and I kissed." And then she went silent before flapping her arms in excitement and making a weird high pitched sound.

"You did what?!"

"Actually we made out." Her eyes widen and her jaw drops. ".....twice." If it were possible, her jaw would've been on the schools dirty floor.

She was about to say something else but I silenced her because Josh, Dustin, Tom and Snow were coming over and I didn't want to be talking about that in front of them.

"Whatcha talking about?" Snow sits snow beside me with her tray full of food as the boys sit opposite us. The tension between me and Dustin was thicker than honey.

"Harley, I'm so sor-"

"Save it Dustin. Don't bother." I scoff as I bite into my apple that I had on my tray along with horrible mashed potatoes.

"You know it was an accident, so why are you being like this?!"

"I'm not mad that you punched me, I'm mad because you punched Ryder just because I kissed him. You can't be protective!" I respond back with my voice just as risen as his was. Tom and Molly exchanged worried looks with each other, Snow was just eating her food trying not to get involved and Josh....he left when I announced that Ryder and I kissed.

Before Dustin could say anything else, I get up and try to find Josh. Once I did find him, he looked upset.

"I'm sorry you had to see Dustin and I ar-"

"Let me take you on another date."' My eyes widen at his response to the sentence I never finished. Did I want to go on another date with him? I did enjoy myself on our last date. "I really like you and if it's ever going to happen, then it's going to happen the right way."

I smile a little bit before responding.

"Just give me a time and place." He smiles at me before pulling me into a hug. After that, we go back to our table but this time there was someone new.

She had dark skin and dark, beautiful, soft looking hair that were in tight, natural curls. Her plump lips were covered in lip gloss and her eyes had nothing but a little bit of mascara.

We sat down as Molly introduced the new girl, Charlotte. She had said that Charlotte was from Australia and had moved her yesterday because of her parents work. Something told me that's not the only reason.

We spent the rest of lunch just getting to know Charlotte, we had also found out that she was one year younger than us.

Dustin seemed to be getting very fond of her and she seemed to be getting fond of him.

Before I knew it lunch was over and then school was over for the day. I'd realised that I haven't seen Ryder all day and I was starting to think that he was avoiding me.

Maybe it was because of all the rumours, maybe he didn't want people to find out, maybe he's embarrassed of me or maybe he was just playing me. Truth be told, it could be any of those. In fact, it could be all of the above.

All these thoughts were flying across my brain as I walked home from school. I had a date later on with Josh and I still have to find out whether or not Ryder is avoiding me.

As soon as I step foot inside my house, my mom comes running to me.

"What happened yesterday? Your brother won't talk so you better start talking." My mom puts both hands on her hips to tell me she was being serious and if I don't talk then she'll get my dad and that is not needed.

"Dustin caught me kissing with Ryder and he doesn't like Ryder so he decided it'd be a wonderful idea to punch him."

"What happened to that Josh guy you went on a date with?" Both my mom and I sat on the couch.

"I have a date with him later on today." I explain to her my plans with Josh and she raises an eyebrow. "I know, I feel like a terrible person." I knew my mom was thinking that if I kissed Ryder than why am I going on a date with Josh.

I explain everything to her, except the fact that I street raced, to my mom and she did that focused face where you don't blink which scares me.

"You are not a terrible person. You can't help the fact that two guys like you." Hold up... you who said anything about two guys liking me. I'm 99.9% sure that Ryder kissed me in attempt to get into my pants. "Also this is probably not a good time to tell you that the Rivers are coming over along with Molly's parents."

"Mom! I have a date."

"Just tell Josh and his parents to come."

Not...a...good...idea.
