Chapter 20

Georgia was the first to arrive, closely followed by Chaz and Georganne and the last one to arrive was Elijah. We all went into the living room and we sat down. Cher sat on Rob’s lap with her hand with the engagement ring on hidden. I sat next to them. Elijah and Georganne sat next to each other on one of the couches. Georgia and Chaz sat next to each other on the other couch. Georgia started telling us more stories about Cher when she was younger.

“Did you know when Cher was about 2 or 3 she used to run around the house singing naked?” Georgia said to me.

“Mom, nothing much has changed, I just get paid for it now.” Cher said. We all laughed.

“Also when she was in fourth grade she had a sharing day at school. Everyone was telling really boring stories and it got too much for her. So when it was her turn she shared ‘you guys are stupid, this school is stupid and this sharing bullshit is stupid so I’m going home’ and that is what she did.” Georgia said.

“Ooooh you are such a bad girl!” Rob said to Cher.

“And don’t you know it!” Cher said back. She then started making out with Rob.

“Lips to yourself stupid!” Georganne said.

“My lips, my fiancée, my house, my rules!” Cher replied. Everyone apart from Georganne realized what Cher just said and they all looked at Cher.

“I don’t care if it’s your house you…hang on a second…FIANCÉE!?!?”

“Fiancée? When did this happen?” Georgia asked.

“Last night, when we were celebrating the adoption being finalized.”

“Awww.” Everyone said. Cher showed them the ring.

“That’s so beautiful!” Georgia said.

“I know. I’m such a lucky girl! I have a handsome and sexy fiancée and I have a beautiful new daughter. I have such a wonderful family and I love them so much.

“We all love you too.” Everyone said.

“I’m so happy. I have a new granddaughter and I am going to have a new son-in-law.” Georgia said.

I felt my phone go off. I had a text message. I looked at the message. It was from Eronwy. I quickly read what it said. The message said. ‘Hi Em, I miss you too. Erin misses you. How have you been lately? Give me a ring when you get a chance. I wanna get a chance to catch up. Both me and Erin miss having you around. Ttyl xxxxx’ Tears filled my eyes and Cher saw.

“What’s wrong babe?” Cher asked me.

I handed her my phone and she read the message. She then handed me back my phone and said “Go call her!”

“But all the family is round.”

“It’s fine. I know you are desperate to talk to her so go!”
