Tears streamed down your face as the barrel of the gun dug into the temple of your skull, the hard iron stabbing into the soft flesh. "Please, please help me!" The head lock that the deviant held you in tightened as more SWAT members stormed the house.
You never imagined yourself in this situation. An angry deviant tracks down where your father lives all in spite of being assigned to the deviant cases. "I want to see Lieutenant Anderson, now!" You tossed around in an attempt to break free.
"Let me go, I have nothing to do with this!" The deviant curled his finger around the trigger. The salty tears never seized.
This is it. This is how I go.
The door shifted, revealing a disheveled figure you knew all to well. Connor usually never looked nothing less than perfect, but his eyes were red and puffy, his tie crooked, and his hair strayed. "Please, release the hostage. I can understand why you may be upset, but I promise not to let the humans hurt you!" His voice was calm and soothing, a peaceful melody to your ears. The hold the deviant had on you faltered and you broke free, running and ducking behind the couch that SWAT had flipped over. They escorted you out of the house as Connor slowly approached the deviant, his hands above his head showing he was unarmed.
"I want the deviant investigations to be dropped! And all files of deviants erased! That's all I ask!" The deviant narrowed his eyes at Connor. "We can do that for you. Just put down the gun and we can do everything you say!" You watched carefully through the door from a distance, your eyes studying every move of the deviant.
The way the deviant looked at Connor, his angry shivering, the way he gently placed the gun on the table in the middle of the kitchen. You watched it all. As soon as the gun was free from the deviant's hands, Connor turned sharply on his heel as a barrage of ammo fired from the SWAT team's guns. You tightly closed your eyes at the shots before opening them again and seeing the lifeless shell of the deviant collapse to the ground; his eyes focused deeply onto yours.
Connor walked from the house directly to you as his eyes ran analysis all over your body," You do not seemed harmed, Ms. Anderson. Your father, Lieutenant Anderson, has been called and should be here shortly." He began to walk away, but you latched onto his arm, pulling him to you into a tight embrace.
"T-Thank you, Connor. I really thought I was going to die. Thank you." Bright blue letters flashed in his vision as you clung to him, but he shook them off, gently patting the top of your head like he would Sumo.
"Do not mention it, Miss Anderson. You are my partner's daughter. After all, just doing my job." He fixed his tie and hair, looking back over the scene, his LED flashing yellow and then returning to its calm blue.
"Uh, please, my first name is all that is needed. 'Miss Anderson' sounds so formal," you smiled happily, never letting go of Connor," but please stay with me until my dad gets here. I'm still a little shook up after everything."
"Of course, it's perfectly normal for humans to request company of one they are familiar with after a traumatic incident, therefore I shall sta-" With a sigh, you cut him off, patting the seat beside you, insisting he take a seat. "Very well, I assume taking a small rest would not hurt anything." He sat down gently and you leaned your head on his shoulder. You felt Connor grow tense and you smacked his thigh, "Relax Connor, you've always been so nervous around me."
"Well, yes, that is because you tend to make my bio-components act almost similar to that of a deviants." With a smile, you chuckle a bit. "I'm pretty sure that is called 'liking' someone, Connor."
A gruff voice interrupted you as you glance up to see your dad," And I'm pretty sure I told Connor to stop being so touchy with my daughter." Connor jumped up quickly, fixing his wrinkled jacket.
"Oh, uh, yes. Of course Lieutenant. My bad Lieutenant." Hank laughed a bit before snatching you into a tight hug," I'm glad my Princess is alright though, thank you Connor. Maybe you're not such a tin can after all."
Connor just blinked, his eyebrows furrowing together and his leaning to the side a bit," But I am not made of tin."
